Athletics: I'm not particularly involved in sports, so my input might not be most beneficial. From what I have noticed, PSU has a great fan support when it comes to our football team. Our school has great school spirit. People are often seen wearing school gear throughout the city. We have a recreation center on campus that is used by a large portion of the campus. Inside are a variety of exercise equipment as well as a pool and track.

Overall Experience: Portland State University has been a wonderful school, so far. Everyone is very warm and friendly. The professors genuinely care about their students and strive for us to do well. The school provides many opportunities for all students. PSU is in downtown Portland, so the atmosphere is very nice. There is a park in the middle of campus that provides an area for studying, relaxing, etc.

Party Scene: Cmon it's Portland so it's overrun by old people and most bars close at like 7pm but still.. there's always something to do. PSU is right next to the nightlife scene, it's so easy to literally just walk to a club. The Escape (nearby all ages club) is there for younger students or students without fake IDs, and it's kinda fun. Transportation = your own feet or the streetcar to get there. There's concerts, bars, clubs, restaurants etc all in walking distance. Concerts especially are good for PSU students since they're so prevalent and close. Most students choose PSU for the location and Portland's music scene doesn't disappoint.

Party Scene: Dorm parties and kickbacks are easy to be found any day of the week on campus, especially Thurs-Sat. Anyone who says differently simply isn't looking for them because they're not exclusive. Frat parties at PSU are unusual because they are not held in frat houses, they are invite only, and guys and girls can equally get invited to them. To get to these, connections to the frats are needed. Sports teams throw legendary ragers among my circle of friends, I've never been to one but I've heard lots about them. If you have connections, there are plenty of house parties all over Portland, including some that occur right off of campus. Having off campus friends or friends that attend Reed can help you get in to these. The party scene at PSU isn't terrible however it is probably worse than most schools because of the lack of student housing around the campus. In my experience I party Thurs-Sat and never really have a dull weekend.

Athletics: Nobody really attends but the football team is really good in their division.

Greek Life: Kap Sig throws good but exclusive parties.

Health & Safety: This campus is really safe, actually shockingly safe. I am a young woman and I never feel unsafe walking alone on campus, which is surprising to me.

Health & Safety: Portland State has a police department on campus and we haven't had a reported incident of sexual assault on or near campus in almost two years. There are blue emergency call portals on every corner and there are always people out and about. Also, the school makes it a point to keep the campus brightly lit at all times.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love PSU with all my heart. When I got here I didn't know anyone and now I feel completely at home. I have had the opportunity to go to other schools but i cant bring myself to leave this school and city I love so much.

Overall Experience: The education system in Portland is awesome, with teachers from all over the country. A degree from Portland State would be different from the usual larger universities but it would hold weight with the schools recent spot in the Best Colleges in the Country list.

Campus Housing: I have had horrible experiences in student housing before but PSU public housing is the absolute best. Everything is absolutely amazing. Super clean and well maintained. PSU offers new and historical housing to your preference and also works with you with a payment plan that works best for you.

Greek Life: We have one fraternity and one sorority. And the sorority doesn't even have a house so i'm not sure if they even count.

Athletics: Athletic here are on the up-tick. We recently got a huge grant from a big sporting goods company and therefore we have money to bring top athletes to school so we can better our academic programs. For the time in a long time, if ever, the football team made it to conference finals but lost in the championship game. We now have to wait and see how the basketball team fares.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love this school. As a transfer student, I was looking for a school that would have good resources to help me finish my education efficiently. I love the teachers and the people that go to school here. The dorms are awesome and are open year-round. Also, PSU is in downtown Portland and has two public transportation hubs on campus. With housing prices through the roof, it is almost impossible to live in the city but the dorms make that possible. Everything you might ever need is within a fifteen minute walk or a short light-rail ride away.
