3 College Student

Technology: I have my own laptop so it isn't a problem personally, but there isn't enough computers on campus

4 College Student

Party Scene: I am not able to go clubbing yet, but the parties on campus are very welcoming

3 College Student

Athletics: For the students who really care about athletics love to watch sports, live on campus, are on a team, there is a lot of people in the crowd. But we do not compare to other Universities such as the Ducks.

3 College Student

Majors: Be yourself, Portland admits many variety students. If you are a threat to the campus I don't recommend you applying ha

4 College Student

Campus Quality: Portland State is very diverse from amongst other Universities, also every day is different on campus.

5 College Student

Campus Quality: Portland is working on being very green. Majority of our assignments our supposed to be turned in online and/or completed on websites.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: A lot of the buildings are modern and those are really nice but the ones that aren't modern obviously aren't quite as nice. The Rec center is awesome and I really love being there and a couple halls are really nice.

Guys & Girls: There are rarely good looking guys here and when they are good looking they're often not very nice. A huge amount of guys here are gay too, most of my friends here are either gay guys or girls so there really aren't a lot of guys to choose from. Plus, it's a commuter campus so a lot of students don't stick around for events or have wives or long-term girlfriends already. Not a great school to date guys for sure.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: As with anywhere, there can be people who aren't accepting. But in general, there are a lot of different sexual orientations here and races and people tend to be very very accepting of people and non-judgemental.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: A lot of people smoke weed or drink alcohol and it's easy to find if you want to but it isn't in your face if you don't go looking for it. There isn't really peer pressure that I've seen and it's not out of control.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: I love living in the center of downtown. It's just a great atmosphere if you like living in a city and people here are generally friendly as well. It's not a snobby city at all.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a few places to eat on campus but they aren't that good in my opinion. Usually we go off campus to eat because there a lot better options.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I almost always feel safe on campus. It's obviously in the middle of downtown so there are safety concerns and you should always be cautious but I've never had any problems and when you walk around late at night, just walk with a friend. Be smart and you will be just fine.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: When you're under 21, there is barely any nightlife and what little there is isn't good either. There are a couple gay clubs and like one 18 and up club. Maybe it's good when you're over 21 but nothing to do really when you're under.

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: There's no greek system here practically! They never throw parties or do anything cool. Some of them don't even have houses on campus or anything. The greek system is basically non-existent.

4 College Freshman

Administration: It's really not too strict of a campus. In the dorms kids get caught with drugs and alcohol all the time and the RAs just throw it up and don't mess with it really.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Don't bring a car to campus!! There aren't really any street parking spots and they're really expensive. You can park in the parking garages but that's expensive too and it's annoying to drive downtown. Campus is really well put together and you won't need a car at all honestly. Especially if you live on campus. There is the max and the streetcar and the bus, you won't need a car.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I wouldn't live in the most of the buildings PSU has to offer but I live in Broadway and it's awesome!! It's seriously the best. The rooms are very modern and new and they have kitchenettes and their own bathrooms. The rooms are also very spacious compared to other dorms. I would choose this building again and again.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places to dine in Portland. There is a huge variety of options and Portland is very health-conscious and has a lot of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. PSU is in the middle of downtown so there are a ton of places to eat within walking distance.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love being here! There isn't necessarily a lot of school spirit or that typical college experience, but it's in the middle of downtown Portland which is awesome and the campus is amazing. People here tend to be really nice, open-minded and driven and it's easy to make friends. I love the look of campus and a lot of the buildings are pretty cool. There are events happening all the time and people are usually really friendly and cool at them.

3 College Freshman

Technology: There a lot of computer labs available but if you're trying to use your own computer or phone to get on the wifi, it's really iffy and kicks you off a lot. If you have your own router or are on a desktop it's okay.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I really enjoy the academics and professors here. There aren't as many class offerings as I'd like but the classes they do have are enjoyable. You learn a lot but the work load isn't too bad.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It's cold here but I'm from Oregon so I'm used to it. It's often in the 40s and 50s so it's not too bad but it's also not warm or anything.

4 College Senior

Party Scene: Awesome time, just wish it was warmer more often for the outdoor seating

3 College Senior

Weather: Living in Portland, it helps to know the forecast the morning of, not even the day before, because the weather might change. And with this comes the necessity to be able to adapt to any weather condition on the spot ( but more often than not, rain)
