4 College Senior

Local Area: It is an interesting city. people are all about being different and friendly. things are constantly happening, from naked bike rides, to parades, to shows and viewings. we have our problems like any city but i feel we make up for that b being a very friendly place and being our quirky-iest best. there is a mall in the city, several just outside the city, a par on every block almost, many water attractions, very pet friendly, very green and innovative. and sports are huge here. on game day down town is flooded with green clothed fans supporting their teams.

Administration: I am not familiar with the policies for most of these things.

Off-Campus Housing: I own my home so have not looked into any available off campus housing.

Scholarships: Check Student portal for any missing information.

Health & Safety: It is an urban campus, so it feels like walking around the downtown area for the most part.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: You can find better places away from the university, eveything dies after a while.

Off-Campus Housing: Overpriced housing and parking is absolute hell. Just live outside of town and take public transportation in. It's easier and cheaper.

4 College Junior

Technology: Lots of computers and lots of people need them, network has some issues but not often

4 College Junior

Athletics: Great teams that have decent facilities, they are a big part of the campus but it does not overshadow the campus

3 College Junior

Academics: Science facilities are old but they make due, workload is expected amount

2 College Junior

Majors: More guidance and problem solving with the students would be nice

3 College Junior

Majors: Grades, all that they care about is the GPA of the student

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Could be better, but it's a downtown campus and there are no defined borders

4 College Junior

Weather: From the area so I'm a little partial

3 College Junior

Party Scene: Downtown campus with lots of neighborhood nightlife

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my program. The political science department's tenured and tenure-track professors are excellent, have interesting backgrounds, and all love what they teach. I have learned so much and can't wait to learn more from the faculty in the future.

Health & Safety: I don't know much about the health and safety on campus, but it seems relatively safe aside from random incidents that occur from being an urban campus.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are many scholarship options, but applying is hard work and tends to take priority over classwork (which unfortunately can result in lower grades).

Drug Safety: Although there isn't an abundance of usage on campus, drugs are pretty accessible and there hasn't been too much of a public effort to stop usage.

Transportation: Transportation in Portland, both public and private, is excellent.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't have an opinion on the athletics at PSU because I don't participate in them.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Depending on the neighborhood you choose, and whether you're okay with a commute or not, off-campus housing can be much cheaper than on-campus housing. It's definitely worth it.
