4 College Junior

Academics: As a dance major, there is more physical work involved than academic workload. Being a dance major is still mentally taxing as well as physical and emotional, but just in a different way than an academic major.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are many different types of races, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientations around school.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Academically, I have had better classes. But ever since taking honors classes, they have gotten better. The classes and teachers for my major are awesome. They are very knowledgeable in the field as well as in the technique of dance.

Party Scene: Point Park is not much of a party school... if you want a nice party school, then you should go to Pitt.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: You must always be aware of any new scholarship openings... very few people will tell you that they are available, you must find them on your own.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Student Life is great, but definitely has room to get better

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing allows you to have more freedom, but you have to worry more about the commute

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Campus housing is pretty expensive, but what you are paying for is the cost of convenience. The dorms are really close to the classrooms, if not in the same building, which is nice when it is super cold in the winter. Besides the struggle of community bathrooms, the dorms are an okay option and helps you to get to know new people.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship so i cannot comment.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: Point park is very racially diverse. It is a very accepting community for different races and sexual orientation.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love being a part of the Conservatory at Point Park. It gives me a lot of hands on experience and I can even work along side active professionals in the field.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship. I do plan on having one next year and I know my professors will be willing to help me find one.

Parking: There is no on campus parking. Parking in Oakland is slim to none and expensive, unless you live in Oakland and have a parking pass then street parking is free but hard to find. Parking down town is expensive and hard to find. The parking meters that are near the school only allow a 2 hour limit.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My overall experience so far has been good. The staff is great. They are knowledgeable, still work in the field and, help you find connections.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Its Pittsburgh weather at its finest. Bitter cold winters, scorching hot summers and rain, sleet, and hail in between.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: School shuttles are great and the public buses are really good.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: We don't have Greek Life at Point Park.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: You really cant park on campus without paying.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The dinning is hall is really terrible. However, the Point Cafe is fine, that is until you get tired of eating chicken fingers and grilled cheese twice a day everyday for five months.

College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drug and alcohol use is really noticeable, but that seems to be the case with most college campuses. The difference at Point Park is that the majority of people won't pressure you into doing something that you don't want to do, and will even stand up for those who find those few people who are being pressured.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Overall I really enjoyed and that's really all I have to say about it.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: This past winter was terrible. Everyone was so depressed and bored because it was gloomy outside. Even the little bit of green we have in the city was gray and dead. It was pretty sad with everyone staying in the dorms, and of course things hit the fan in terms of drama with everyone being cooped up for months.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: For a student who's breaking the rules the strictness is perfect, because its not strict at all. They keep us safe, but people do things like drink underage and make lots of noise all the time.
