Off-Campus Dining

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's a ton of options in the village.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Very good food off campus but expensive

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Coming from a major, bustling city, transitioning to small-town Claremont was really difficult. There are a few quality restaurants in town (Eureka Burger, Bardot, Union on Yale, the Back Abby) but they're a little overpriced and can get really boring. Plus, if you don't have a car, it is about a 25-35 minute walk from the dorms into town. So, it can just be very time-consuming.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: For a small town like Claremont, the village is an ideal, quaint little spot. There is a small selection of restaurants, but most people usually only eat at their favorite place.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The Claremont village has lots of fun restaurants. Plus, we are in close proximity to LA with every type of food you could ever want.

The off-campus dining options in the surrounding Claremont area are numerous and diverse. Not only are there places to get a quick bite to eat, but there are also restaurants for all shapes and sizes: formal, casual, spicy, or just a good old-fashioned sandwich. "The Village" offers a wide array of eateries with dishes ranging from Thai food to Spanish to Mediterranean. If you come to Pitzer, you'll be able to taste dishes from around the world, and you only have to walk a few blocks to try them!

Village dining prices can be steep, but there are many cheaper options. As a college student looking to spend frugally, you can sleep easier knowing that there are places that won't break your bank account. Student favorites include Bua Thai Cuisine, Viva Madrid, and Pizza 'n' Such, just to name a few. If you do decide to splurge in The Village, you can be sure that you'll get a bang for your buck. If you have a car and can venture outside of The Village, you'll find even more exciting restaurants and local cuisines to try. There is definitely no lack of delicious food in the area, so make sure you come hungry!
