5 College Freshman

Campus Food: Food at the 5C's is great. There's 7 dining halls to choose from. In my opinion, Pitzer has the best breakfast/ brunch options, and Mudd has the best dinners. Very vegetarian/ vegan friendly.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's very good, but like all college food it gets old. I shouldn't complain though because its amazing compared to any other college I have been to

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Compared to most other college dining halls, the food across the 5Cs is super healthy and generally there are enough options. After a few months, though, it can become monotonous and frustrating. Having flex is great because you can get really good coffee at the Motley (Scripps coffee house) and delicious sandwiches at the Grove House (Pitzer).

5 College Sophomore

Campus Food: I can honestly say that I LOVE the food offered at Pitzer as well as the other colleges. At Pitzer specifically, they serve fresh, local produce and always have the healthiest choices of all the schools. The Farm Bowl offered on Wednesday as well as the Pasta Bar offered on Thursday are delicious. Pitzer also has a green box service where students can take meals to go and once they are done, they simply return them to the dining hall.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: With the 5 different campuses, there is always a delicious, healthy option. It's fun to go to the other schools for meals.

You will never go hungry as a student at Pitzer College. There is an assortment of different food, ranging from ethnic specialties to a grill that dishes out some of the best burgers, quesadillas, and steaks around. There is also a sandwich bar where you can get a sandwich made to your liking with all of the toppings you can think of. Add to the list a panini maker, waffle maker, omelet bar, and the favorite "specialty nights," and you won't have to look any farther than McConnell Dining Hall to fulfill all your stomach's needs. Perhaps one of the greatest facets of Pitzer's dining hall is each specialty night. When it's dinnertime, come prepared to dive into wonderful stir-fry for "Mongolian Mondays" or authentic tacos and burritos during "Taco Tuesday." Come before the rush, though; students are bound to line up early, forks and knives in hand.

At the Claremont Colleges, there are more than 15 eateries to choose from, and the hardest part about this is making the choice of where to grab a bite to eat! The students can attest to the fact that each dining hall has a different feel, as well as food selection. To most, Pitzer is known as having the best lunches at the 5Cs, and students from all the colleges venture over to Pitzer during their lunch breaks. There is also no shortage of vegetarian or vegan food, for those who desire it.

Did You Know?
  • Pitzer's Grove House was built in 1902, during the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Pitzer College saved the house from demolition by first buying and then moving the house to Pitzer campus. Now this house serves as a social center and home-style eatery.
  • Every Tuesday night at 10 p.m., Pitzer's activities committee/program board (PAct) hosts Snacky-Snack, which consists of different takeout food such as Subway, Cinnabon, Thai food, Domino's Pizza, Panda Express, and much more. This is offered to all Pitzer students.
  • Students who live on campus in Z Tower of Mead are given the option of having the five-meal plan because the dorms in this tower have kitchenettes where students can make their own meals.
  • With your meal plan comes flex dollars; these can be spent at the other on-site eating establishments for additional meals and snacks.
  • Pitzer students can use their meal plans at the eateries located at the other Claremont Colleges.
  • You can sit under a famous mural while you eat. Although belonging to Pomona College, Pitzer students can eat at Frary Dining Hall, home to the famous fresco of "Prometheus" painted by muralist Jose Clemente Orozco in 1930.
