My time at Pittsburg State has been a whirlwind of emotions; times have been trying, uplifting frustrating and wonderful all at the same time. The atmosphere for any school event is always light and fun. Whether it be tailgating at a football game, or opening night of a musical, the people in Pittsburg always have shown their support. The best way to explain my involvement in school is to simply I am and always will be proud to be a Pittstate Gorilla!

I love the atmosphere, it's very warm and welcoming. There are so many different types of people attending the college, but that doesn't really matter to the students because we are all there to learn. But there are things around campus that you can do like a myriad of clubs and intramural sports to be a part of. We also have a large sense of school spirit, just go to one of our football games and you will see the student section crowded with people in a sea of Crimson and Gold supporting our Gorillas! Also we are the only university in the country with the Gorilla mascot not many schools can say that. It's a school that is also not too big but not too small, most of the class sizes are like that of a typical high school class 20-30 but some of the larger classes can be in an upwards of 100 people, this can be seen as a benefit to those who learn better in a smaller class setting.

Overall, Pitt has been great! I have enjoyed getting to know people on campus and cheering on all our different sports teams. The food on campus can be less desirable at times, and the rooms are a bit tight. However, it is a great place. I would definitely recommend Pitt if you are looking for a smaller community but still desiring a solid education without having to go to a community college. The sports are also amazing.
