5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Even though PVCC is a community college they really get you feeling like it a real college campus. It is very clean, organized, and everyone is always doing something productive.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The one issue i have here, is i cant really afford college and financial aid wont give me a dime unless its for a loan. Therefore i have not paid for my class and my school dropped 4 of my classes without warning.

Overall Experience: PVCC is a great community college. I could not be any happier with the decision I made to start out at PVCC. The faculty strives for success and will do anything to help the student. They will help you find an internship (if applicable) a work study, or even a part time job some where in the career of your dreams.

Overall Experience: Nothing really special or outstanding to report.

Online Courses: Effective teachers who are easy to get in contact with.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Getting financial aid was frustrating and confusing. The people at the office only contributed to the headache.

Academic Flexibility: Very flexible classes usually. A wide variety of subjects to choose from. The curriculum is easy and fairly stress and hassle free.

Campus Resources: Decent gym. Fairly useful library. Little, if any campus activities outside of clubs, and the general aesthetics I find to be lacking.

Student Body: The student body is very diverse, with a lot of foreigners and a small number of exchange students. There is little problem fitting in for anybody.

Academic Experience: As a general studies major I can say that this is a good degree choice if you're looking to do something else. Otherwise, choose a major more carefully.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: Good professors who are usually fairly capable of teaching. Easy curriculum and registration process. Tutoring program is sub par from what I've experienced.

Student Body: The interaction is okay. When we are assigned group projects it is usually the same people in the groups. The students do not interact with other students as well as they do with the ones in their own group.

Overall Experience: I liked how it allowed for the community to get involved with the college also.

Academic Flexibility: When I was taking dual enrollment in high school, I had to miss a week for my wisdom teeth. I came across the problem of having an exam during the days I was going to be out. I emailed my professor and she understood the situation. She allowed me to take my exam the day I came back. The professors really understand and work with the students personal lives.

Online Courses: I really love online classes. The professors give you the right amount of time to accomplish your work. Unlike an ordinary classroom when the homework is due the next day, online classes give you two to three days to complete your work. They use every way to help you learn the material. It is absolutely amazing.

Campus Quality: The English program is outstanding. The professors work with the new technology offered to them. They also incorporate what we like to do outside of class as examples or finds connections to what we are learning about.

Career Services: The career center is amazing. They have a wide range of options to choose from. They also are very acceptable to working around your personal work schedule.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Students get together outside of the classroom and participate in in-class discussions. Generally everyone is courteous and I have not seen or heard of any violence on campus.

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: There's the Main Building which has the Library, testing/learning center, and the advising center. And there's the V Earl Dickenson building which has an auditorium were shows are given (students get in free!) and most of the arts classes are held. And the Kluge Moses building. The parking lots are no headache and plenty of lawn space to sit and visit or study.

Academic Experience: My major is Business Administration/Management. The part I take away the most is the real life experiences people share in class. Some of my instructors also own or operate their own businesses so they can give the best advice that isn't from a textbook.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: So far all of my teachers have been excellent. They know what they are talking about and can present it in a way that's understandable. Registration is good too. I can go online and look at a list of all the times, days, and instructors available for one class and make the choice that works for me. Business is on of the big majors. Nursing and Computer Science are the other two big ones.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: There is aid available and staff members will help walk you through the process. Definitely turn your paperwork in early though so that it has time to be processed and if there are any issues they can be fixed.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It is easy to make an appointment to talk with members of staff. I haven't had much difficulty taking classes because there is a large number of classes offered in the evenings and weekends which works well with my work schedule.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: You can go to the computer lab, the library, and the lounge to have access to a computer, or link up to the internet with your own laptop. The connection is good as well. The cost of printing is low too.
