3 College Junior

Technology: Some of the technology that we use in the classrooms is dated. I feel that our experiences in the classroom would be enhanced if the technology would be updated, even if it were by a few years.

4 College Freshman

Technology: Usually you can get a computer if it's not finals week. Printing pages given are usually sufficient, and, if your computer can connect, the network is pretty fast.

The University’s ResCom staff is very helpful with all of your computer needs. They are very knowledgeable with viruses and cleaning your computer up if you run into problems. The Ethernet connection in the dorms is normally very fast and reliable. Penn State’s WebMail and Course Management System (ANGEL) are very easy to use and help keep you organized.

The computer labs are a decent alternative to having your own computer. Though they do get crowded, there is almost always a computer available or a very short wait to use one. There is a lab located in every dorm area. However, the convenience and privacy of having your own computer in your dorm room is undeniable. The ability to communicate with your friends, classmates, and professors at all hours without leaving your room is one that should seriously be considered by anyone thinking of leaving their PC or Mac at home.
