Athletics: Tickets to games are very expensive, but the experience is top notch! WE ARE

Overall Experience: 1) Although academically Penn State is a wonderful university and I generally enjoy attending the university, it is very expensive.

2) There are a lot of race problems that are prevalent on campus but ignored by the administration

3) If you ignore the racism it is a nice environment

Health & Safety: Penn State has installed blue lights across campus. These lights have a call button which a student can press and some one will come to that area and escort the student to their destination. Penn State also has phone numbers a person can call to have someone escort them to their destination. Whenever a crime occurs, Penn State notifies the campus community through email and text messages. If a camera catches the suspect, Penn State will post notification papers around the dorms.

Campus Housing: Living in South Halls is probably the best option. It has nicer, spacious dorms fairly close to the majority of classroom buildings.

Greek Life: There are many students involved in Greek life. Those not involved seem pretty indifferent to those who are involved. For those in fraternities, there are fraternity houses for those members to live in off campus and for those in sororities, there are on-campus sorority floors located in dorm buildings that members can live on.

Athletics: I honestly do not know too much about the athletics at my school but what I do know is that our school spirit is absolutely amazing.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have had the best experience at Penn State. The professors love what they do and I feel like I am getting an excellent education which will prepare me for my job once I graduate. Not to mention, my school and its students have so much pride. There is so much pride and recognition that it makes me feel like my school is one big family.

Campus Housing: Dorms get nasty quickly when you live with sloppy people and the cleaning staff doesn't work well.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics at Penn State are huge and make for a great atmosphere at the games.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Awesome school I absolutely love it.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: you have to work with what you got. but second year housing is a pain in the butt.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't really have any personal experience. but I heard they are pretty fun.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: the multiple gyms offer multiple machines and classes for students to attend. and the sporting event faculties are great.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: the teachers and resources are good. I just have to learn how to do college and be successful. I am not worried because I have the tools.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Hazleton is totally safe. Nothing really happens here.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I can't wait to transfer to the main campus from, quiet hazleton. people are really nice here, but its too quiet for me.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: i know nothing about this too be honest.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Living on campus is the best thing. It gives you a feel of independence and its basically like a huge sleepover with friends.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Penn State has been really great so far, I can't wait to transfer to the main campus so the real fun could start. I've made some good friends here and the classes seem to be a breeze because the professors really help you out and care about your success.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living in East Halls has its good and bad points. The bathrooms in my hall aren't the best. Otherwise, my room is quite spacious. I'm sure it isn't one of the nicest halls on campus, but the people who live there are very friendly.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Penn State is the best possible environment that combines both a hardworking and fun-loving atmosphere. There are a variety of activities to choose from and people to get to know, so anyone who goes there is bound to find their place.

Despite common reservations about the location and climate, most Penn State students are fiercely loyal to their alma mater. Penn State boasts one of the largest alumni populations in the United States; graduates are proud of their degrees, and employers recognize the University’s name immediately. Although the campus is located in a very rural area, school is technologically up-to-date and on the cutting-edge of current research.

Aside from academics, PSU is also known for its social scene, especially in relation to sports and parties. Nittany Lion football—home of the 2008 Big Ten Champions—is a national draw and a point of pride for both the University and the town of State College. For anyone interested in playing or watching varsity sports, PSU is a top choice. Penn State has also been ranked highly by many polls and “party school” surveys as one of the top party schools in the nation. While it certainly isn’t the wildest town, these rankings are definitely accurate. The small-town setting and large-school atmosphere makes for little else in the way of entertainment, so it can be hard to avoid encountering the party scene during your time as a student. Still, the mix of work and leisure seems to work well for most of the student body, and academic standards at Penn State remain relatively high. It’s easy to spend four years at Penn State as an ever-serious student, focused completely on whatever you choose to study. With so many opportunities to relax nearby, balance and moderation are some of the best skills to learn from your four years in college.
