4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of fast food, so a lot of cheap actions

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of diners and cafe's around campus as well as the typical pizza joints and Sheetz stations for late night cravings. No complaints at all!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Unless you have a car, you'll be stuck with the same options that are walking distance from the school. Other than that, there is a variety of choices to pick from and most of them do offer student discounts which helps.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I love the off campus dining, they are all good chooses and theres a good bit of different types of foods

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Chipotle is always a go to option for anyone when they are feeling the need to leave campus

The city of Altoona has a plethora of places to get great food from many different regions and countries, and many of these options are near campus. The closest places to the University are Mama Randazzo's Pizzeria, McDonald's, Great China, Subway, Tandoor King, Sheetz, Dominic's of New York, and Pizza Hut/Wing Street; all are only about an eight-minute walk from campus. Most restaurants are generally located on or slightly off "The Strip," aka Logan Valley Boulevard. The options nearest to campus are probably best described as typical college student food, and most of the large chain restaurants that many people recognize are also in Altoona.

If you prefer to buy your own groceries, Martin's is a grocery store near campus. Plus, it caters to students by accepting LionCash for groceries. For students without cars, the bus system is a great asset because it makes a number of trips to the grocery store almost every day of the week. When it comes to the prices of dining off campus, the cost at non-franchise restaurants is drastically cheaper in Altoona when compared to bigger cities.
