Greek Life: I do not see the point in having to pay a big chunk of change to be part of a group but this is coming from a non-Greek. Greeks do say they love their chapters. They do have many fundraisers for good organizations like THON.

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: One frat: Sigma Pi. They're the poorest excuse for a frat I have ever seen

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are two sororities, one social fraternity, and one co-ed veterans fraternity. One sorority is Gamma Phi Beta, and most of them are the prettier ones and partiers. The other is Alpha Sigma Tau and they think they are different, but aren't really. The one social fraternity is Sigma Pi. They do have a chapter house. There is also a co-ed veterans fraternity called Omega Delta Sigma, which is pretty new on campus. They seem like cool guys.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is Greek Life here but it's not as heavy. They do throw parties I would say the only negative thing about it is that if your name is not on the list your chances of getting in is low.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: im non-greek and don't see any reason to go greek. not many people seem to be involved in greek life

The Greeks at Penn State Altoona have a decent presence and organize a great deal of mixers with new recruits, but by no means is Greek life a big deal on campus. There are no Greek houses on campus; instead, members of each frat and sorority rent houses off campus that are not affiliated with the school and are not official Greek houses. These houses are far from campus and are fairly rundown, much like most houses that are rented to students.

Overall, the majority of campus doesn’t show much interest in the Greeks, mainly because the number of Greek students is very small in comparison to the entire student body. However, students say some groups are cliquey and snobby toward non-Greeks.
