5 College Senior

Academic Experience: My major is nursing, and I think it's great to be a nursing student at Pellissippi State!

Academic Flexibility: PSCC will really work around your schedule. I only take night and online classes, and they usually offer most classes needed every semester at all times.

5 College Senior

Online Courses: I take at least one to two online courses a semester, and I absolutely love them.

5 College Senior

Career Services: It is very successful and has a reputable success record. I would recommend to anyone.

Overall Experience: First let me start by saying I have ADHD, and all of my professors that I have had have been amazing. My major is nursing, and as we all know,it is a difficult major/subject. A lot of the work is very thorough and hard. Every single instructor I have had is very knowledgeable about the material covered, and they possess great teaching styles/methods.

Overall Experience: I actually plan to transfer to Lincoln Memorial University

Overall Experience: I really have enjoyed all of my time at Pellissippi State Community College.

5 College Freshman

Online Courses: Online courses are easy to access and time friendly. The online courses are so detailed you feel as if you are in the classroom.

Career Services: They help match you with a job from your major. The school has a high post-graduate success rate.

Academic Experience: Plenty of studying is involved all throughout the course. The first year and a half is book work and clinicals, but Pellissippi makes it enjoyable.

Overall Experience: Very friendly and caring about their students. Great college to go to! Highly recommend for anyone using community college as a stepping stone for a 4 year university.

Online Courses: While online courses are very convenient in that you get to work them around your schedule and they're an option for when a class you need or want is not offered at the campus closest to you, I've actually found my online classes more stressful then my on-campus ones and it's hard to feel connected to the professor. Peer-to-peer interaction is okay and the registration process is easy.

Overall Experience: Most of the professors I've had are really nice and helpful and seem knowledgable and passionate their subjects. There is a decent, though not amazing, variety of courses offered and it's hard to say what their quality is since I haven't been to any other college but I'd say it's relatively high compared to what some people assume about community college courses. The classes are pretty small, so there's lots of discussion and professors usually know their student's names.

Overall Experience: I don't know much about the quality of the alumni network, but considering this is a community college, I'm sure it's nothing special. There aren't many employers recruiting on campus, but I think there are more at the main campus. The quality of the career center/services seems pretty standard but not bad. I'm not sure about career prospects. I mean, no employer is going to be impressed that any applicant went here, but considering this is Tennessee and so many people don't have degrees at all, I don't it really hurts much.

Academic Experience: I don't think the program is really unique. There are some good professors and the workload is semi-challenging but it it pretty weak in the area of internships and job opportunities. To be fair, it is a two-year college and my program is a four-year in which internships generally are done in the last two years.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: My experience has been fairly pleasant, though boring. The work feels pretty much the right amount of challenging, especially considering how many hours a week so many students have to work. I can see how some people would think it's crazy easy though. The fact that I'm basically getting paid to go there is great, but I don't think I would choose it again if I could do it all over. I don't really like that I go to a college I have to commute and pass my high school every day to get to. I looked forward to more freedom and independence and fun, new experiences in college and I'm definitely not getting that going to Pellissippi.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I enjoyed my classes for my major, especially my mass comm class.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Pellissippi is okay. Some professors are great, some not so much. I think that Pellissippi is a great starter school.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I have been able so far to have classes that best suited me and my family. I have had no trouble getting credits for classes I took prior to coming to this school. I have also had no trouble registering for and getting into the classes I needed.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I have not been involved in this yet. I have approached my professors and have been told the program does help with job placement and there is an internship that is required as part of the program which will help transition into the workplace.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The class sizes are smaller which allows more one on one time with the professors. The classes and work is very hands on which allows us to understand the topics better and retain information. The professors are always friendly and willing to help and have good office hours if there is a need to speak to them outside of class.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have not had much experience with this yet. My program is very specific but I feel will allow me to have a good portfolio when applying for jobs.

The job fair I did attend at the school did not impress me with the employers that attended.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I had heard the communications graphics program at the school was very good. Actually being in it has been fantastic. The professors give knowledge of work in the real world during their lessons. Different teaching styles of the professors also has helped me to be able to adapt to different situations which I know will also be beneficial when getting into the workplace. I have learned a lot in a short time and I am always excited to know what we will learn next.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am returning to school and have children. I feel very accepted and the professors are extremely nice and caring. They see you as a person and understand that you also have a life and responsibilities outside of school. I feel very successful and have professors that are very encouraging. The school is very supportive of adults returning to school and I have never had such a wonderful experience with school.

5 College Student

Academic Flexibility: My school is literally ten minuts away from my house which is a huge bonus. But my clsses can also be anywhere from 7am to 8pm so they offer a wide variety of options which makes working 2 jobs much easier.
