Online Courses: The most valuable thing I learned from my online course is time management. Since the workload is doubled for the week, I had to arrange my time accordingly to make sure I was able to complete the work in time. The teacher made sure that we knew she was available anytime we needed her, and even uploaded a video of herself to put a face to her name. She said we could come visit her during her office hours if we had any further questions or needed help on any difficulties we were facing. We didn't do to much group work, but every week we would post a response to an assignment and have a discussion with other students.

Online Courses: Most of the time, courses in a classroom are just as effective as online ones.

Pasadena City College has had online courses for many years; however, there is not a wide selection of courses to choose from. There are two types of online courses: hybrid and online-only courses. Both require homework submission solely through the Pasadena City College Blackboard website. Online courses save students time and let them work at home peacefully. If a student has questions about his or her online courses, he or she has an online help center that can be contacted by phone or through the website.

Someone who takes an online course does not have to be really tech-savvy; he or she just has to be well organized and self-motivated to stay on top of his or her studies. In order to turn in assignments and complete quizzes, the main requirements include Microsoft Office programs and Internet access.
