I loved being a Kinesiology major! The classes were engaging for the most part and I really enjoyed my professors. Unfortunately, being a Kinesiology major wasn't enough to get me where I want to be, therefore, I will be attending Illinois State University in the Fall as an Athletic Training major and Parkland College as a Massage Therapy major. ISU will fulfill my dream of becoming an Athletic Trainer and getting my Associates degree in massage therapy will make me more marketable in the career.

I loved studying Criminal Justice at Parkland College. The instructors are very concerned about you as a student and are very courteous of your success. I think one of the best thing is that being that there was never more than 30 people in the class, it really made the classes more intimate and easier to learn. I liked the learning environment in my Criminal Justice classes and the teachers I learned from. Being that there were not many CJS instructors, the same instructors taught consistently which made it more intimate and close between teacher/student.
You don't even need to take on a huge course load. I always maintained 12-15 hours until my last semester, which was extremely easy, being that I had 9 semester hours my last semester (spring of 2011).
I think they also have great opportunities for internships and job opportunities because many of my friends took advantage of these!

Guided Back Into School – I have been out of school for almost ten years now. The thought of going back for my degree after moving across the country, having the joy of seeing my son grow up into a rambunctious four-year-old, moving through many jobs and many living situations is extremely daunting. Parkland College has eliminated almost all of my excuses for not going back school, placing me in challenging, but not overwhelming core classes and guiding me through the enrollment, financial aid and major selection process. I am extremely pleased with my choice of Parkland College!
