Campus Housing: What Is Your Focus? Some say that the freshman dorms at Pacific Union College are more undesirable than the upperclassman dorms, but they are my favorite! Two of the three girls' dorms share bathrooms between two paris of roommates, while the third has community bathrooms/showers, and all three of the men's dorms have community bathrooms/showers. The upperclassman dorms are rumored to be cleaner, and they don't have a curfew, but they are a considerable hike up the hill, which most students address by driving instead of walking up the stairs. The social atmosphere on campus is amazing! Students greet each other by name because in a school of only about 1500, it's hard to forget that guy who sits next to you in English class, since he's likely in three of your other classes! Cost of living in the Napa Valley is rather high, and it can cost more than normal to go out to eat. Plan for about $15 /person at least. There are hardly any restaurants within a half hour drive of the campus, but they are worth it! Dorms are available for all students, but off-campus housing is also available. Locals often rent out rooms to students, and the apartments nearby are also a good option.

Academics: Lots of Options. Registration happens online. There is no rush however, your classes will not be full for weeks after registration for a given quarter is opened. There is no mad rush to make sure you get your classes at PUC. Luckily, PUC also has agreements with many schools for study abroad programs.

Technology: This Is an Apple Campus. Most students have iPhones, MacPros, iPads, iPads and everything else Apple.

Administration: School is very strict when it comes to academic things. Student life issues are pretty strict too, if you get caught, but you have to be stupid for that to happen.

Majors: Very Strong English Department – All but two of our faculty have their terminal degrees. All are very committed to helping us learn all we can about writing and literature.

Guys & Girls: People at PUC are very friendly, respectful, and usually quite intelligent. Many are also extremely attractive.

Drug Safety: Study Drugs, Weed and Liquor – Most students use at least one of the three regularly. All three are banned on campus, but the enforcement is lax.

Athletics: Good Amount of Attention – This school does not revolve around athletics, but the athletes are a diverse group and very committed to their sports. Most students go to a game once in a while.

Off-Campus Dining: Extremely Good – Napa Valley. 'nough said. Seriously, this place is known for two things, wine and food. Imagine Southern France.

Drug Safety: Can Be Bad – It depends on who you chose to spend time with, I suppose, but it can be pretty bad, and it's pretty blatantly bad when it is bad. You can pretty much tell which students are drug users and which ones aren't. The drug enforcement at PUC is so lax that if you get caught using drugs, and get in trouble, you are probably very very stupid.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Very Tolerant – In general, the school is very tolerant, so far as to say that I'd find it hard to believe there are campuses that are significantly more tolerant. Gay students are sometimes picked on, but in general, it's a very accepting atmosphere.

Weather: Very Bipolar Sometimes – The weather, I'd have to say, is really nice for most of the year. Nice and cold, which I prefer since you can cover up and keep warm when it's cold, as opposed to it being hot (you can only take off so much clothing, right?). For the most part the weather is at most, 75 degrees, but sometimes it gets really hot, randomly (90 or higher). It can go from rainy to sunny in a few minutes, but I'd say it's really nice, in general.

Health & Safety: Nothing dangerous – Now that the Zodiac Killer is gone, there is nothing to be afraid of.

Weather: Even when its hot, there's a nice breeze. Might snow once or twice a year, nothing extreme.

Scholarships: They give everyone some aid but they don't give out that much aid to any one person so if you need a LOT, you're probably screwed.

Administration: Sometimes PUC's administration is very strict. Other times they are very lax. It's completely unpredictable.

Diversity: Super Diverse – PUC students come from all over the world and country.

Transportation: There Is None – To get to any sort of public transportation, you would have to walk at least ten miles down a huge and unsafe hill. There are no buses on campus to help people get around. This school is horrible about transportation.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: There Could Be More – This school is very expensive. They try to get every ounce of money that they can get out of one person. The financial aid that they do give is limited and not a whole lot. They could definitely make the transition smoother to get the aid also.

Local Area: In the Middle of Nowhere – This school is up on a hill with absolutely nothing but houses for the people who work here, one little tiny grocery store with nothing but vegetarian foods, and there is no such thing as public transportation unless you count an ambulance. The closest town is very tiny and it is ten miles down the big hill. The closest city where there is decent shopping and attractions is an hour away.

Weather: It Is Sporadic and Unpredictable – It could rain one day and be 80 degrees and sunny the next. classes are far from the dorms and it does not help if you walk to class wearing the wrong attire for the weather.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Caring Professors – Haven't had a professor that wasn't helpful to students.

Administration: There's really no reason to it. Totally unpredictable. Also, usually you won't get caught.

Party Scene: Select Few Options – There are very few bars locally. Parties are rare but they do happen.

Campus Food: Not the Worst – Some meals are really really good, some are not. At least you have choices, and everyone has different favorites so I guess they're doing something to please everyone, sometime...
