4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: I feel safe when I am waking at night on campus. They have a number you can call for the campus police and they come right away. Plus they are driving around all the time.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Security on campus is very thorough, and campus crime is nearly nonexistant.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: ORU is a very safe campus. The crime is very minimal and it's easy to feel safe here day and night.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: ORU is the safest place. It's in the city, but I never feel unsafe on campus. I would feel safer walking around campus at night than I would in my neighborhood at night.

Most students say they feel very secure on the ORU campus, as they should in a Christian, Bible-following atmosphere. There are not many reports at all of theft or any other crimes, really. And if anything remotely malevolent happens, it almost always stems from a group of students just looking for an adventure, which leads to somebody accidentally getting hurt in the process.

Public Safety officers are seen at least once on almost any trip to anywhere on campus. In fact, so little happens on campus in the way of crime that it seems like some members of the security force get so bored that they keep themselves busy by looking for cars parked in the wrong lots so they can write tickets.
