Majors: There are many majors and minors to choose from. The process of applying is simple and nothing unusual. All you have to have are good grades, and letters of recommendation.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am in love with this school, the most important thing to me is having a school that supports what I believe in. Not only is everything centered around God, but they also support you and help you with what ever problem that you have. To be in such an atmosphere is a blessing and a privilege because it really helps you grow as an adult, spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Health & Safety: To my knowledge there hasn't been any violence of students harming other students on campus. The Walmart across the street is the only thing to cause any problems, which is why you will hear from pretty much every student, to go with a group of people when you need to make a quick grocery run at night, but other than that, there is little to none harmful activity going, so you're pretty safe.

Diversity: Honestly there are so many people from many different places and it is awesome to converse with people growing up in different cultures. And because this school was built on the principles of the Holy Spirit, by the Grace of God it has become a place of refuge and a place to build a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Scholarships: It isn't simple, however the financial aid office at ORU is very organized and tells you exactly what you need to fill in, complete, turn it et cetera. Then once everything is turned in all you have to do is wait until they process everything then it is finished.

Administration: One of the main things you must understand is the Honor Code. It is there to remind each student of the life that they should be living, in other words, to live like Jesus Christ, which is why there is a curfew, no alcohol and strict rules only to prevent what the enemy would want you to do in the first place. This is only a guideline to follow to give students a better opportunity to overcome certain habits and prevent the temptation to commit them again. It may sound horrible, but when you realize how the enemy can use anything to get you distracted, this Honor Code is merely a reminder of what we must do to stay focused and on fire for God.

Greek Life: There is no need of Greek Life. The campus is very friendly and everyone is connected through someone in someway.

Overall Experience: The kindness that I received here was one of the main reasons why I chose to go here. If I have people who truly care about me and want to help me by praying for me, speaking encouragement and life for my life, what more could I ask? The genuine attitude and spirit-filled lifestyle is what I saw through the interviewers and the people in general. If you desire to gain a better understanding of God and the way that the Holy Spirit works through what God wills for your life then ORU is for you.

Campus Food: Certain places are open during convenient hours and it has some variation but not much. Although that is a good thing because staying healthy and eating healthy is important and having Moe's and Chic-fil-a and different coffee shops around gives us just enough to give a change of taste, however i personally love the food that the school provides, it varies everyday, some days are better than others but overall my tastebuds are quite satisfied.

Off-Campus Housing: It is definitely cheaper however with the cost of gas, food, and traveling around you really need people to live with in order to make it cheaper. Also living on campus, really sustains the spiritual atmosphere and keeps people connected and that is what makes living on-campus such an important part of coming to Oral Roberts University.

Local Area: Tulsa is a pretty okay city, but it is full of crime.

Off-Campus Dining: Tulsa is a city, so there is a good variety of restaurants.

Campus Food: Although we are grateful that we have options and food in our stomachs, they could do better. I've known people (including myself) that have gotten sick off the food in the cafeteria. They should also wash the dishes better.

Guys & Girls: Most of the guys here are very preppy, which I particularly am not into. They have extremely good manners though.

Academics: The Music Technology department offers students plenty of one on one time, provides labs even on weekends, and even provides outside audio courses and opportunities.

Academics: My school offers a lot of different studies in different fields. From Theology, to Nursing, to Engineering, to Theater, to Music, to Social Work, etc.

Health & Safety: Actually, our campus has very good security. I feel completely safe walking around campus at 1 in the morning.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: ORU was very generous in the Financial Aid area and office.

Campus Housing: It's great living on campus. There is a very welcoming "fit in" atmosphere. It be nice to have complaints and requests answered faster. And the public restrooms in Gabrielle Christian Salem Hall are quite dirty.

Majors: I am very happy and excited to complete my program. I would definetely do it all over again. I plan on starting my own company.

College Sophomore

Majors: I know my major includes an internship, but i don't have much information on it yet.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I know nothing about Greek life on or off campus at ORU.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: I feel good about the diversity at the school. It makes for a great learning environment.

2 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Personally, I have only seen one security person in the two years I have been at ORU, and he was in a booth near one of the parking areas. He was not helpful at the time. At night, I have never seen one, execpt maybe in the booth near the Mabee Center, where there are rarely any students or parking. I feel I am on my own when walking around campus after dark. I think there is a false assumption of safety on campus and in buildings.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: There seems to be a lot to do and choose from. Interests is wide from college sports to the cultural scene, casinos and parks and recreation. There is also shopping and dining from fast foods to fine dining.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
