4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors are great, if you are truly interested in learning something instead of wasting your time. Pay attention during class and make some effort and it should turn out okay.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Not too many choices, at least, not for my tastes.

4 College Junior

Majors: It's relatively easy to study what you want and to change your major if you decide to.

3 College Junior

Administration: As long as you are willing to work with the administration and you know what you are getting yourself into by going to a Christian school, it's not a bad experience.

Off-Campus Housing: Mostly because it's such a hassle to get approved by the school to live off-campus

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options.

Campus Housing: It does the job that you need it to, but isn't worth the money you're having to pay for it. Caludius and EMR are definitely the social dorms, but are incredibly crammed and run-down. Towers are a nice alternative, but don't expect to build as many relationships with the people around you over there. It's a nice quiet place to move when you are established socially and need a quieter space because of your class load.

Scholarships: Financial aid is always a headache, especially when dealing with federal aid, but the university is very helpful and will bend over backwards to ensure that every student receives the financial aid they need in order to stay at the university!

Local Area: Growing up in Dallas, I was a little hesitant to move to Tulsa, worrying that I would have nothing to do, but I found quite the opposite! There are lots of options for both city and country- you just have to be a little creative and know where to look!

Party Scene: You can find them if you are looking for them, but overall the student body has other interests and is above reproach in this area.

Athletics: The athletics at ORU are high quality, although not the biggest part of campus culture and life,

Health & Safety: We have a very secure campus, which makes all students feel comfortable walking around campus. There is no need to worry about your safety because ORU has an extremely safe campus.

Administration: I like the strictness of the school because it holds us to a high standard of excellence in our behavior and the way we dress. We may not be able to do drugs and drink like many colleges allow, but we find other ways to more productively use our time and we have fun in the process.

Campus Housing: Depending on the dorm you choose, you will either get a fairly average sized dorm room or a larger one. Both sizes are nice and clean and provide adequate space for your things. The best options are the "Towers" dorms as they are the most spacious. The atmosphere in all the dorms is fun and relaxed, although it can be quite noisy. The cost is the only downside. The dorms are incredibly pricey and the housing process can be kind of tricky.

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus, even after dark.

Party Scene: There are a few parties that the student association puts on each semester. Otherwise, everyone is busy with classes.

Administration: ORU looks to encourage a culture that builds community on and off campus through its rules.

Health & Safety: The campus is very safe and everyone works to keep it that way.

4 College Junior

Majors: Business Administration is really great because it offers a wide range of skills that are applicable in every job.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of options for off campus dining. However, it helps if you have transportation and know someone who is familiar with the area. Thankfully, I have some friends who know where several smaller restaurants are that serve more authentic food from other cultures.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: They provide plenty of scholarships for students. However, I wish they could post more information about outside scholarships.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: It feels very safe on campus. Not only does the religious environment of the campus ease the minds of students, but we also have a moat around the campus. (That moat was not intentional; the river was just getting too big, so the city of Tulsa had to renovate all areas where the river was flowing.)

3 College Junior

Local Area: Tulsa is a fairly safe city, but there are a few drawbacks that make me want to live elsewhere.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
