Greek Life: We don't have one at this school..

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone here is very fit because of our motto here.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: This is a great school. The teachers always pray before we take a test and before class starts.

Health & Safety: There is a great deal of security procedures put in place at ORU. Student Life faculty including the Dean of Women and Dean of Men have been less than helpful in certain aspects including sexual assault allegations. There is counselling and addition help for those who request it but it must be sought out by the student.

Overall Experience: Overall, Oral Roberts University has succeeding in meeting all of my expectations. Student life is accepting and engaging, athletics are encouraged, and academics are thriving. The spiritual atmosphere is continually growing.

Overall Experience: Academic Advisors at Oral Roberts University work diligently to ensure that students that graduate from ORU will be successful in their chosen fields. ORU offers help to students with resumes, mock interviews, career fairs, and more.

Campus Housing: Oral Roberts University's dorm life is a great experience for students who choose to embrace it. Claudius (women's dorm) and EMR (men's dorm) have smaller rooms but are closer to the Graduate/Undergraduate Center and the Chapel. These rooms also cost less. Towers includes Michael and Wesley (men's dorms) and Francis and Suzy (women's dorms). These rooms are spacious but cost more. While Claudius and EMR are wing-style with a long hallway down each wing, the Towers floors are ring-styled and the hallways are circular. Gabrielle (women's dorm) is farther away than Claudius/EMR or Towers. The housing process is relatively simple and ORU works to make it as convenient as possible. Personally, dorm life is my favorite part of ORU.

Athletics: Oral Roberts University places a huge emphasis on athletics as it is part of the Whole Person Education that ORU strives for. The Cooper Aerobic Facility is comprised of various aerobic and resistance equipment, an indoor running track, sport courts, and an indoor pool. Students can easily rent sports equipment such as basketballs, volleyballs, and racquets/racquetballs and there are almost always students playing a pickup game of basketball. Students are also involved with supporting sports teams. Intermural are a vibrant aspect of the ORU community and enjoyed by students that participate.

Overall Experience: Oral Roberts University strives to offer its students a comprehensive education while combining Christian teaching and a thriving community. Most students that attend ORU are dedicated and driven individuals who contribute to the welcoming atmosphere. I have personally most enjoyed spending time in the dorms with the girls who live on my floor. I appreciate the time and energy that student leaders put into their positions to make the college experience best for everyone.

Health & Safety: There is not a lot of campus crime, or at least none that I have heard of. There are multiple emergency buttons placed around the campus and many security guards that walk around our campus. Also, we have security guards stationed at both entrances into the school, and the guards check incoming cars to see if they are students. I feel safe on campus, I do not worry about walking alone.

Campus Housing: I love the social atmosphere of the dorms I reside in. Everyone is friendly and respectful. Everyone respects your space, but they also chat with you every once in a while. The cost is manageable, but I wish we had the option to not buy a meal plan. Another thing that I would change is instead of having a hall meeting once every week, have a hall meeting once every month.

Athletics: Although sports are not a huge part of campus, it is always nice to go to one of the sport's games and to watch the athletes play. The athletes seem to have a good time, and the fans also seem to have a good time. The baseball players perform well, and show great sportsmanship. There are a lot of families who show their support for the team, but with respect and modesty.

Overall Experience: I love how community oriented ORU is. There are so many volunteer options available, and we always have events going on for students to attend.

Health & Safety: There are very few instances I have heard of anyone being in any sort of danger. We have a very safe campus and the administration, security and professors work hard to keep it that way.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I think overall, it's been a great experience. My professors and classes are great. I know my professors really care about me as a student. They are genuinely concerned when I'm having a bad day or can't understand a topic. They are typically very accommodating if you need assistance if you let them know ahead of time. I think the campus is beautiful and I've made some really good friends. There are quite a few work study options, too. I think some people are negative about the rules and such, but a lot of my professors and friends have been really encouraging and really work to help you out if you mess up. I do, however, wish our NCAA athletics were treated with more support.

Overall Experience: The media professors really try to get us up to speed and work to make sure our skills are refined. Many have contacts in the professional world and will write letters of recommendation for students who work hard and prove they are well rounded by working on the newspaper, radio station or other campus leadership positions. They also push us to get us smaller internships that will build our resume and network so the bigger positions will be there when we graduate.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletic department and the student athletes work really hard to be successful and get other students involved, but it can be difficult because students are overcommitted and athletics gets pushed to the back burner. Non-athletes also have a negative view of athletes even though they do not attempt to get to them. It's frustrating because some of our teams are good, but would do a lot better if they knew the campus cared.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are some rules I find a little ridiculous and sometimes I feel like I'm either doing a lot of stuff or not enough. Otherwise, I would say my experience has been really great. It's hard being a commuter, but now that I've found my major and what I'm going to do with my life, it's been a lot easier to build relationships. I know a lot of people find their advisors somewhat hard to work with, but if you build relationships with your TAs and instructors, they really help you out. Many professors are advisors to the majors so if they know you, they'll be a lot more willing to spend extra time helping you really figure out what's best for you.

Party Scene: My friends and I simply hang out with others on our floor. I don't know about any club/bar scenes.

There are wonderful coffee shops semi-nearby.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
