Overall Experience: ORU is the greatest place on earth. I love it here. If you let your social life rule your academic life, then it could be trouble. You have to study here; it isn't all fun. I had a rough time before I came here. Six colleges later, I ended up at Oral Roberts University, where my heart, and God told me to go.

Technology: I don't really know much about the computers here because I have my own. However, the internet is fairly reliable and very very fast. I really like it. Printing is decently priced and the few times I have used the computers they were reliable and pretty fast.

Scholarships: The biggest scholarship that ORU offers besides Honors program and Athlete Scholarships is the Whole Person Scholarship.

ORU seeks to educate students who exemplify a whole person lifestyle in that they are desirous of developing not just intellectually, but emotionally, spiritually and physically.

We are looking for well-rounded students who dream of furthering their education, where they will emerge as servant leaders who are spiritually alive, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, socially adept and professionally competent.

The Whole Person Scholarship Program has been established to recognize students who model the Whole Person concept. Scholarship recipients will demonstrate the following:

Christian Worldview
Lifestyle of Service
Academic Achievement
Leadership Ability
Vision to Make a Life-Changing Impact on Others
Healthy Lifestyle

Parking: There 4 different parking lots that separate visitors, staff, students, and special events. Its orderly and not confusing. There is never traffic or congestion.

Off-Campus Dining: Tulsa Town – Food in Tulsa is whatever you want it to be. It has everything from sushi houses to self serve frozen yogurt houses. In addition to commonplace chain restaurants, there are many Tulsa originals. Cost ranges from the cheap and huge Portions "Chedders" to the formal dining affair and proportionately priced Wolf Gang Puck restaurant.

Scholarships: The Faculty Is on Your Side! Everyone I talked to during the entire enrollment process was enthusiastic about getting me the help I needed. The financial aid workers are very aware of the high cost of attending ORU, and do theri best to get you all the help you can get. I suggest just asking as many questions as possible, look into the Merit Scholarships, and try for the Whole Person Scholarship competition.

Administration: The Honor Code – Every student is required to sign an Honor Code at the beginning of the school year, and is expected to uphold it. Punishments are usually not as strict as one would expect though, usually starting with a fine (for things like property damages), but progressing to more severe things like expulsion depending on the offense. Students caught drinking are often expelled. But that's not a bad thing considering that ORU is a private Christian University, most of the students want to set a standard of moral excellence as well as academic.

Weather: Tulsa weather is great and provides students on the campus with a various climate. Cold winters, mild falls, mild springs, and hot summers make ORU a great place.

Campus Food: Not So Good! For some reason our cafeteria is called Saga by the students and my friends and I call it "Nasty Saga." There is a large amount of mystery meat used and the food is sometimes stale or burnt tasting. There is always cereal as an option, but man cannot live on cereal alone!! Saga is not so good!

Greek Life: Greek, Not Greek – The only Greek life you'll find on campus are Math and Psychology club letters. ORU does not have any type of Greek life that involves soro's or frat boys. You can however join at a neighboring college such as TU or OU who have excellent programs.

Party Scene: Forget it. ORU has a Curfew at 1:30am unless you sign-out. Not that it matters because everything in Tulsa closes at 10pm or earlier. Liquor stores close at 9pm and ALL the clubs, bars, pubs downtown close at 2am. And most of them you have to be 21 anyways. The only thing open all night is Wal-Mart. So stick to a house party, or TU, OU, or OSU campus party, stay with a friend and make sure you "signed-out".

Guys & Girls: Guys and Girls – Well, because this is a Christian University, whenever you try and talk to someone, they assume you want to marry them. Looks can be deceiving and when hanging out with the opposite sex, everyone thinks you guys are talking (another down side.) They have a lot of jokes about "Ring by Spring" and women are here to get their "M.R.S" degrees. Sadly, it's 75% true. Some up sides to this is the guys are truly genuine and respectful gentlemen. Most guys just want girls they can hang out with and get to know, most girls just want guys who won't turn in to stalkers. There are great guys and girls from all over the world on campus. You just have to find out who they are, and that can be the hard part.

Campus Quality: ORU provides great opportunities. It is connected to many countries around the world. The academics are great, and you really get a full education.

Athletics: Basketball, Track/Cross Country, and Baseball – Those are three important sports on campus. Basketball is by far the most highly anticipated, and students get in for free with their ID's, which is definately a perk.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Good a HOT – Most of the year its HOT. In the fall semmester it still can reach over 100 at least until the end of september. Once December-February comes the ice can be a killer. But much better than Canada weather. Just be prepared to come in layers.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: Get with the new – Many schools now offer computers upon admissions. Yet, ORU is in the stone age in this area. While many other universities offer plenty of online classes ORU is lacking the variety of online classes that are needed to support a good university.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Great and see a BOLD future – ORU is a great school and I would never choose any other place. The Holy Ghost is represented here in all that is taught and done. The students as a whole are seeking to know God and through all this the education is great! If I could do it all again and choose another school I would choose ORU 10X again!

2 College Sophomore

Administration: Expect better – Since the new president arived to the school dress code has not been enforced. As long as someone is on a sports team or different in any way, they have immunity. With their honor code it is more to discriminate rather than to unite and honor the school.

1 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Most girls are very modest. Although there are many that seek the sexual attention from others. The dress of 20-40% of females is disrespectful to the school and to male students.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Fake face – Just like many other christian universities across our great country. They look clean on the outside but on the hush hush they're no different than any state school. If your going to send your child here be sure they will say no before you say yes.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Never better – The courses offered at ORU are great! They are always trying to help the students do the best and not just to get a name for themselves. The teachers go above and beyond to get people to grow in their field.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It rains quite often. In rainy season make sure you have your rain boots! Or you'll be swept away by the flood.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food is not that great, it's often a disappointment when tasting the food.

5 College Student

Parking: There's lots of parking and and several locations to park.

5 College Student

Guys & Girls: Well Rounded – The ORU student body encompasses a persona of excellence and spiritual and physical awareness.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
