Parking: There are a wide area of places to park. Of course all students have to have a parking permit to park on campus which is free.

Campus Housing: The People You Meet Here Are Amazing! Since coming here four years ago, i've made so many friends and we hang out alot. I've met people of all different religions, cultures, and from all countries. It's a great melting pot of people in one school and it's a unforgetable experience.

Local Area: Coming from a highly populated and congested area, Tulsa is a breath of fresh air. Nice people, good food, plently of eateries that are varied. There are also FREE ORU basketball games at the Mabee Center for all ORU students. There is the Riverwalk on the Arkansas River with some shops and music and restaurants, that make for a pleasant evening out. And there is also downtown that has the BOK arena for concerts and such, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and the Blue Dome district for Indie style, music, coffee shop type people.

Overall Experience: The first thing I loved about coming here was the community; the people are great. It fits me because I have a heart for missions, and they have a great missions department and vision. You have to know when to say no to activities though, there are so many opportunities for leadership, outreach, etc, and many people need to work also, and it gets crazy fast. You definitely need to balance that out with academics, especially if you're coming here and paying for a private education.

Off-Campus Housing: Probably Can Find It If You're Allowed – I haven't lived off campus, but I know there are several apartment buildings nearby and I've heard housing in Tulsa is comparatively not too expensive. Only thing is most students are required to live on campus unless you're over 25, married, part-time, graduate, or are living with your parents.

Off-Campus Housing: I Am an Online Student – I am a online student. I am currently not on the campus.

Administration: Good Question – The school is strict to a certain degree. If you follow the rules, then their will be no problems. However if someone is to become a constant problem, they can be expelled from the university

Drug Safety: No Drugs/Alcohol – The school has a Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. Before signing up for Oral Roberts University you are required to sign an honor code stating that you will refrain from all alcohol and drug related items

Campus Food: Saga Cafeteria – The Cafeteria is amazing. There is plenty of room, and the food is cooked fresh everyday. There is a huge variety of menu items to pick from, including, home cooking, international, vegetarian, and their is always pizza and burgers.

Party Scene: The Student Association and campus clubs plan several events for students to participate in weekly, but if students want to hang out they typically go off campus to enjoy city nightlife such as movies, restaurants, bowling, coffee shops, or dancing. The school has several study locations, and to socialize on campus many students relax in the commons or eat together in the cafeteria or coffee shops.

Local Area: City Life – The atmosphere around campus is lively and entertaining. It is full of restaurants, malls, fairs, and festivals. Lots of local businesses look upon the students as reliable workers, and students have many opportunities to intern in fields related to their degree of study. The community welcomes the college-age and has a wide diversity that matches that of the university's students. It is relatively safe, but wise to not travel alone or be in isolated areas at night. Overall, it is an ideal city for a campus location.

Transportation: The campus is across the street (within walking distance) of a Walmart and several coffee shop and cafe places. It is convenient to go study off campus and to buy groceries, etc. Many students have cars and those that do not are able to get rides with friends. The bus does not stop at the university.

Health & Safety: Awesome Campus! The campus is completely safe, with tons of security. They are easy to access. There is also Emergency call centers on campus. Their is not any drug or alcohol problems on campus, due to it being a huge Christian atmosphere.

Academics: I really enjoy the variety of Psychology classes. They have something for everybody. There is Abnormal Psychology, Marriage and Family, Measurements of Psychology, and much more. The professors are amazing, and genuinely care about all their students. You are known by name by the professors and they take an active roll in your education. The workload is medium, their is always something to be done, but they give ample time to complete it. Wonderful opportunities for teachers assistants.

Academics: Excellent Studies – I am an online Student at Oral Roberts university and the educational experience is awesome. The classes are base on your major and design to help you develop skills in your major area. The efollett bookstore.com is very easy to get your course books. Everyone is very polite and helpful with all of the online students. The online classes are eight weeks long and the workload can be a bit much but it is worth it to serve God.

Health & Safety: Online Student – I never felt unsafe because i am a on line student

Overall Experience: I Love It! The school is very invested in helping you to become a well-rounded person, if you make the effort to do so yourself. It's a lot of hard-work, you meet people you like and some you don't. I enjoy my overall experience!

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Upper Lot or Lower Lot – Parking on Campus is ok, just try to get a parking space up front or out back if you're conscious about your car

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There Are Many Options – The schools intentions are to get a person well rounded in the basics of of a lot of criteria such as art (although the department could be a bit bigger), music (the teachers are AMAZINGLY gifted professors), chemistry, the engineering department is one of the largest I've seen. And so much more.

Off-Campus Dining: Good Eating – I visited the campus in April of 2010 and I found lots of good places to eat. Chinese Buffet, Rib Shack, Aonic, everything was good and affordable.

4 College Junior

Weather: often the weather changes very quickly on campus. one minute it could be 100 degrees and the next it could be a thunderstorm. the seasons are very defined. if it does happen to snow during december/january, students take full advantage of the snow day as the city shuts down due to lack of snow removal ability.

Academics: Business College – ORU's business classes are often helpful although i find a few of them to be dull and monotonous. I didn't learn a thing in Business Law nor did any of my peers as the class did not pay attention at all. Earlier in the year, i took a principles class for marketing and the prof was a younger man who didn't seem to know the concepts well...he had some real world experience but mostly was a bore. overall i like the business classes at ORU, like management and Quantitative Analysis. I find a few classes to not be so challenging.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
