Off-Campus Dining: Which Way Do I Go? Lots of eateries within walking distance from the dorms. However, there are great francises in the student union. The cost are common to anywhere else, my Mom sends me coupons to use n share "from Sundays paper". Buy 1, get 1!

Campus Quality: Up and Coming – The athletic center is awesome! It is mandantory to earn hours in the gym and it is to a students advantage; great equipment and great hours of availability to develop "The Whole Person".
They are building a new student center to encourage students to desire to be on campus more than off. the plans a certain to accomplish this goal. Libraries are quiet, clean, and very resourceful. ORUs landscape, architeture and design is beautiful! Lots of symmerty and symbolism in the design of the buildings. it is always clean. New renovations in the dorms and new furniture too! Air conditioners blow cold and the heater is hot. the internet is wanting. The food is not yo mammas.

Drug Safety: Not at All – There is no visible usage of drugs which is nice. That is because it is against policy and very strictly enforced. There is a good amount of smoking but no drinking.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Very Nice – It's not to loud but not to quite. It's very conducive to studying but also fun in the hallways. Watching movies, girls screaming and running down the hall.

Overall Experience: This Place Is Amazing – I am totally in love with this school, it is the most amazing place I have ever been. I am learning in a atmosphere that supports and develops my spirituality as well as my intellect. The campus is beautiful as well. It is truly awesome

Off-Campus Housing: Very Limited Housing – I have had a hard time finding housing. I finally found a room to rent in a young woman's home. Housing off campus is limited.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Many Options to Choose from – Options include Mexican, Italian, Chinese finer dining and all the ussual campus delights: pizza, subway, ribs, frozen yogurt, sonic, chicken, all withing walking distance of campus. If you drive, a short distance away are more fine dining: everything from continental, steak houses to japanese.

Administration: Don't Break Honor Code – You already know that this is a strict university. It's fully Christian and upholds all those values 100% of the time. There's no room for error, especially for drinking, sex, and all that "good stuff" that comes with an average persons idea of what college life should be. This includes off campus activities as well. Lucky enough, the curfew has been changed from 11 pm to 1:30 am.. so go wild with that :)

Guys & Girls: Girls and Guys from 1 - 10 – So many options and no time to pick. You have varying types of guys and girls. From the tall and handsome, short and geeky, and the cute and preppy, to the leggy and sexy. It all depends on what you're looking for.

Diversity: Moderately Diverse – Although there are many different races represented on campus, there are a numerous amount of Caucasions present. People would think that this is typical of a small Christian University, but surprisingly there are many different international countries represented at ORU. This ranges from those in the Caribbean, to many in Africa, even to parts of Russia and Sweden. International students transition easily into this new enviornment because people are provided to aid in this step.
Most students that attend this institution are "bible-believers" and there doesnt seem to be much room for religous deviation. Come to ORU if you believe what they believe, it'll build your faith for sure.

Scholarships: I received some financial aid, it was very confusing getting started as I continue to progress through the proper channels it seems to get a bit easier. I wish there was a way for adults going back to school to locate scholarships. It seems scholarships are available to the freshmen who just graduated high school but not many for those of us who regret not going after high school and are trying to correct it now.

Academics: Business Major – I love the way ORU has allowed all the incoming freshmen to get acquainted as well as making sure they have all the knowledge they need to get started. The workload is tough at first, it gets easier as you get more accustomed to college life. The facilities are nice, the parts I've visited. I'm currently enrolled as an online student. This is why I am searching for scholarships available in order to finish my education through full time status. The job opportunities in Tulsa/ Broken Arrow are endless for someone with a Busniess Management/ Administration Degree.

Administration: Strict Honor Code – They are very strict. Every student is required to sign a strict honor code. There are no co-ed dorms and no one of the opposite sex is allowed in the dorms.

Local Area: Small Town, Big Values – Tulsa is a small urban city with very friendly people. It is a very easy going community. There are a lot of churches in Tulsa.

Academics: Amazing Atmosphere – I came to Oral Roberts University not really knowing what to expect. I have fallen in love with the campus, the small but outgoing student body, and my incredible professors! The music program here is very different from other schools, in the sense that competition isn't as intense. We compete with each other for different spots, but it definitely is not the cut-throat competitiveness like at any other music school. I feel that with this type of environment I thrive at a much faster rate. I love it here!

Campus Quality: It Has the Best Students and Faculty – The thing that sets ORU from other school are the people. Almost everyone you meet there is friendly and willing to go out of their way to help out new students. Its the most friendliest and most hospitable environment for any college. The professors and staff are caring and very helpful in making your experience in school a benefit.

4 College Senior

Parking: There are a wide area of places to park. Of course all students have to have a parking permit to park on campus which is free.

Local Area: Coming from a highly populated and congested area, Tulsa is a breath of fresh air. Nice people, good food, plently of eateries that are varied. There are also FREE ORU basketball games at the Mabee Center for all ORU students. There is the Riverwalk on the Arkansas River with some shops and music and restaurants, that make for a pleasant evening out. And there is also downtown that has the BOK arena for concerts and such, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and the Blue Dome district for Indie style, music, coffee shop type people.

Overall Experience: The first thing I loved about coming here was the community; the people are great. It fits me because I have a heart for missions, and they have a great missions department and vision. You have to know when to say no to activities though, there are so many opportunities for leadership, outreach, etc, and many people need to work also, and it gets crazy fast. You definitely need to balance that out with academics, especially if you're coming here and paying for a private education.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I Am an Online Student – I am a online student. I am currently not on the campus.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Good Question – The school is strict to a certain degree. If you follow the rules, then their will be no problems. However if someone is to become a constant problem, they can be expelled from the university

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: No Drugs/Alcohol – The school has a Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. Before signing up for Oral Roberts University you are required to sign an honor code stating that you will refrain from all alcohol and drug related items

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Saga Cafeteria – The Cafeteria is amazing. There is plenty of room, and the food is cooked fresh everyday. There is a huge variety of menu items to pick from, including, home cooking, international, vegetarian, and their is always pizza and burgers.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
