Technology: The computer labs have PC's and Mac's which accomodate those who prefer one or the other.

4 College Freshman

Academics: ORU has a great business school with professors who have worked in the field for many years. The professors are willing to help and provide students with many opportunities to gain real world experience.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: We have over 60 countries at ORU. It's a very diverse school with many different kinds of people.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are fairly nice, but could always be improved.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the buildings (Claudius and EMR) are old and are due for remodeling but the Towers dorms are pretty up to date and more spacious. Gabby is the newest and biggest rooms with key card/password access, they are girls only dorm.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is a pretty good variety of places to eat especially on 71st street by around the mall and well as downtown. Restaurants range from fast food to really nice sit down dining places

3 College Freshman

Weather: It does rain there. Flooding does occur when it rains. You have to walk to other buildings for classes. The fitness center is a hike. Bring your walking shoes when you stay on campus. You will do a lot of walking.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Kids come in as early as 16. It is strictly enforced about no drugs, no alcohol, no smoking, and no dating/fraternizing. A dress code is highly enforced. Women have to look like women and wear dresses. Men must look like men and wear dress clothing. No facial hair is allowed on men. Can only live on campus up to the age of 25. So, "Make No Little Plans Here."

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They are always on top of things and make sure you get the answers you need to hear. Very thorough on what is needed etc. I have not had any serious problems.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: They just built a student center. So associating with other people would be the best in improving relationships with one another. ORU helps you get to where you need to go.

4 College Freshman

Academics: My specific major is Theology: Church Ministries and you better love dealing with people because this is an indepth curriculum on dealing with people. Get beyond people and you will have conquered all the aspects of school workload, etc. Always major on what's important and stay focused on what your goal is.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am not finished yet. But if I was I would be looking for a job either in my field or close to the field of study I graduated from.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Nightlife at ORU is very restricted. They believe that you should get a good night sleep. There is a curfew time to be in dorms. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs, and no wild parties; more of a community thing among all the on campus students. Accountability among one another is part of being there. There are chaplains and counselors around when you need them. Some of them live on campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: In Fireside there is a huge dining hall and there are several place to get a variety of foods. I love the food there. Get the max on your school card. In the administration building there are several restaurants and your school card covers everything. Variety is a big thing, but so is taking care of your body. So I do know that there are restaurants that sell stuff not too healthy for you, but for the most part you do eat good there.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: ORU is very diverse. I would suggest you read the school catalog first before you make that decision. Also praying about your decision to attend ORU is the best way to find out what you and God together need to do. They are a Bible based campus and you do not have to be a Christian to attend, but following the rules is part of an honor code you sign when you attend the school. Richard Roberts was not a Christian when he first attended the campus, but he did become a Christian when attending the school.

Health & Safety: I believe that if you follow the rules you will be alright. It is very beautiful and very safe, but you should always be wise and lock your car door. Always park in the right place. There are places designated for specific people.

3 College Freshman

Parking: You do have to walk to whatever building you have to be at, but the parking is not as bad as it seems. You go to park where you are suppose to. If you do not know, ask the staff who know. Complaints do not solve a problem. Do the best you can do because it is limited.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I love being a part of the education program at ORU!! The course load is packed, but that's a good thing. I'm only a freshman and I've already started practicums. (That's where you go into a shool for a few hours a week to observe and assisst.) The professors always have their doors open and are super halpful. This is especially important in the ed. department because getting certified to teach is a long and complicated process but they know exactly what needs to be done and when and they make sure us students are on top of things. Also, the ed. tech lab, open only to education majors, is one of the only places on campus that has free printing which is a huge plus.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: All ORU students are required to sign a honor code at the beginning of each year. Drugs are one of the prohibited items on the honor code and it is strictly enforced. This makes ORU an awesome enviroment not only to learn but also to make lasting relationships.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Many people compain about the cafeteria food but I think it's pretty good and their are always a lot of options. Other dining options include chik-fil-a, Moe's (taco place), Green Cuisine (health food/smoothies), a deli, and two coffee shops. Sometimes, food outside of the cafeteria can get expensive but you can also buy food in the grocery store and keep it in the refridgerator that every dorm room is provided with.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are many restaurants in Tulsa, many of which are walking distance from the school. You can find many places to eat to satisfy your craving, there is everything from Indian and Thai food to Mexican and Italian food.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: They provide shuttles to the airport, many different churches and local outreaches.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Hardly anyone drinks or "parties". Of course, there is a small group that does but its not prevalent at all.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The new Armand Hammer Student Center is definitely the best building on campus. It has added a lot of life to the ORU campus; it has a restaurant and a coffee spot. It also has meeting rooms, and the biggest flat screen TV in Oklahoma. Not a bad place to hangout, play video games, or even a game of pool.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The new student center is the best hangout spot for students; the Aerobic Center is great for workouts and competitive games of basketball, badminton, or even volleyball.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
