Academics: I am a theology major and I consider it a great honor. My professors have a deep knowledge of the Bible and a personal relationship with God. They care deeply for both the academic and spiritual aspects of a students' life. The classes offered and workload assigned create a great environment.

Academics: The professors are all extremely committed to the well being of the students and their curriculums line up great with what they are teaching. The workload is for the most part fair and adequate as it pertains to each major. Resources are plentiful for studying. The academics are a strong suit of ORU.

Majors: ORU offers a very diverse amount of majors. All are solid programs. I have had an internship with a church and it lines up with my major perfectly.

Weather: With the exception of two seasons, the weather presents no conflicts. The major problem areas are the winter and spring. Winter brings sometimes severe ice and snow storms, which Tulsa does not do the best job of handling. This affects driving and other everyday activities. Tornado season arrives in the spring and Tulsa is right in the middle of Tornado alley. These can be very dangerous and precaution is vital. It is only for a period of about a month and a half, but students must be constantly aware of the weather patterns.

Parking: Parking spots do fill up very quickly, so one has to get there fairly early if a good parking spot is desired. The distance from classes is not unreasonable compared to other colleges.

Scholarships: Everyone was very helpful, and the scholarships I did receive were pretty fair, but tuition is rather high and I come from a low-income family, so I am taking on all of my debt myself.

Administration: Well, considering it's a Christian college, and smack-bang in the middle of the bible belt, it's pretty darn strict and conservative. But through all of that, it is loving and accepting. The faculty strives for your success. If strict is what you're looking for, this is a good place to get it.

Transportation: Everything is pretty average. Long distance transportation could use some work.

Academics: I am a Studio Arts major. My life is pleasantly busy and filled with creative new tasks. The workload is not over-filled with busy-work, but applicable towards my major. The curriculum is interesting and engaging. The faculties are well-stocked.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
