4 College Junior

Transportation: bus, personal car and shuttle for the end or beginning of the semester

5 College Junior

Diversity: there is diversity except when it comes to sexual orientation. Christian School.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I am a nursing major and I am very happy with my choice of both my major and my school. It is a hard major with intense courses, but I appreciate the help that the faculty has shown. My goal is to obtain a BSN and become an RN and eventually become a nurse practitioner.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The Nursing program at ORU is fantastic. The faculty is a body of dedicated professors and mentors who want to help students succeed and become the best nurses possible. Because the program has such high success rates, it is also extremely hard. The teachers will be tough on the students; they hold them to a very high standard. Tutoring is available, though, to help those who feel they are falling behind.

Off-Campus Housing: ORU requires its undergrad students to live on campus unless they are granted special permission by the administration to live off campus. Normally, this is for married students or students with family close by. However, in recent years, it has begun to become a bit more relaxed and more students (typically upperclassmen) are starting to move off campus and live in apartments nearby, mainly because of the fact that it can be cheaper than living on campus and they get a bit more freedom (no more 1:30am curfew, cooking their own meals, more space, etc.)

5 College Freshman

Administration: Compared to a secular state school, ORU is probably one of the strictest campuses in the nation. All of it's students are forced to sign an honor code agreeing to no drinking, smoking, drugs, premarital sex, etc. Of course it's broken all the time, but things can easily be uncovered and intervention happens.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: ORU's got some great athletic teams. They're good about making sure students attend games and get involved in supporting the athletic programs.

4 College Freshman

Parking: You can buy a parking pass for $50 per school year. It pretty much guarantees that you'll always have a parking spot in the lot closest to the dorms. There's also a huge visitor parking lot with TONS of spaces. If you park in the lower lot, which is closest to the dorms where you cannot stay for more than a few hours, you run the risk of getting fined.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are campus patrol and there is security updates via email.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: This is a Christian University that also teaches about character, not just grades. It is against campus rules, and more importanly God's ways.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Spacious, new furniture, but buildings are old, but in process of being remodled

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Been looking around it looks to be safe neighborhoods all the way around just getting things with vehicle is next.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Its okay. Not much goes on especially if you are car less.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It's been very difficult for me. Because people tried to stop me from coming here so I wasn't able to participate in Whole persons. That hurt me a lot especially because I had to take out loans to get here and was told this was the only time that was happening. I wish they had offered more or lowered tuition because right now i don't know if I am coming back or not.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't have all my financial aid completed when I showed up for school in the fall and they had people on staff to help me complete the process! It was such a blessing! ha

3 College Freshman

Administration: There is an honor code here and it is a Christian University. Stick to the rules and you will be fine.

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: We are not allowed to live off campus unless we are either married or living with parents.

3 College Freshman

Parking: We have to park fairly far from our dorms which is a hassle sometimes. Permit costs are reasonable and tickets are rare unless you purposefully violate the rules. Many students on campus have cars (I have one) so there isn't a huge need for a car because students who have cars are willing to take you places. Everyone has the same parking regardless of your grade.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: The food is good, but the prices are so high! The meal plan and flex dollars do not last for very long, and eventually I have to use real money that I get from my job. I feel like if I am paying this much, I should get a lot more flex dollars; at least enough to last the entire semester.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: People are always talking about alcohal on campus, but it is only certain groups. There are the people that just don't take part, and then there are the ones that do. The ones that do, it is what they are always doing. It is about a third of campus or so.

3 College Senior

Majors: I am a Multimedia Student at Oral Roberts University. I would love to work in the film industry but the program is really focused on broadcast media. I feel like a majority of the program is outdated and needs to be updated with current information. It would be awesome to see those who are making it as film producers come and teach at the university.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The security is not too great here, but there is not a great need for it! For the most part, there are no crimes.

4 College Freshman

Parking: Low Cost. No need for a car on campus. Great parking. However, they are serious about ticketing and fines if you park somewhere you are not supposed to.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Oklahoma weather is crazy! Snow, rain, sun in same day. But it does not effect my experience.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
