Administration: I love my school and the rules are reasonable.

Transportation: Having shuttles available during breaks are great. The busses get each student that put in a request to either Greyhound or the airport safely and in a timely manner.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Oral Roberts is a Christian University and with that being said, this school is super strict on drugs and other things that take away your focus on your academics and building a stronger relationship with God.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is okay. I enjoy the not being home every night, but the rules on campus sometimes make me feel as though I am still in high school.

Local Area: Tulsa's smaller than the city I come from, but it's got it's perks.

Diversity: There are people here from all 50 states of the U.S. and from over 70 other countries, so I would say it's a pretty diverse campus.

Campus Housing: The atmosphere of ORU dorms in a nutshell:

Gabby - Quiet

Towers - Social

Claudius - Loud

EMR - Crazy

Weather: I come from another state (Texas), so having snow in the winter was a bit of a surprise. The wind here is no joke either, but thankfully the buildings aren't too far away so it sort of works out.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: My advice for anyone thinking of this school would be to apply for the school's Whole Person Scholarship.

Academics: We here about the "Whole Person" education a lot, meaning students here are working towards getting the best of their mind, body, and spirit.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safer on campus than anywhere else in the city. I feel secure enough to walk to the student center at midnight to grab a soda without anything happening. I have yet to see any violent interactions between students or any visible presence of drug or alcohol use on campus.

Off-Campus Dining: I usually eat on campus, partly because of time, and partly because I do not have a car. From what I have heard there's the usual fast-food restaurants down the street, and I have seen a variety of local restaurants with some interesting choices.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The aerobics center has satisfactory equipment to work out and play sports. As I am not an athlete myself, I cannot make any comments on how the athletes train.

College Freshman

Transportation: The campus is small enough that you can walk to each building in less than ten minutes.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
