Diversity: People are who they are. They Be who they want and that's what makes our campus so great.

Campus Food: Need Better Food in Café.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Tulsa University is 15 mins away from Oral Roberts and they have a lot of sports, theater, and science shows as well

3 College Sophomore

Majors: It was kind of tough, because I didn't have the best GPA coming out of high school. But I did not let that deter me from getting into a college and making my grandmother proud. I didn't receive as much scholarship as I could have so im trying to get extra money.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Church group im apart of is excellent. We try to help ourselves better everyday as one and learn about God as much as possible.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: We are up to date on all the latest software.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: When I walk on to the basketball team I Plan to change the team around. The environment, school spirit, and team energy.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Really Basketball is my passion, so I spend my nights in the gym getting better and Studying the bible.

Campus Food: Our campus cafeteria, which we refer to as "Saga," is not utterly disgusting, but it has its struggles. I do know that the school is trying to revamp Saga for the upcoming school year. We do have access to other restaurants both on and off campus that accept Seduxo which act as plan/flex dollars.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: As students we are required to sign an "Honor Code" that states that we will not participate in activities that include drugs/alcohol on or off campus. Of course there are some that do not adhere to this code while off campus, but there is zero tolerance while on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The student body rallies around our teams. Our facilities are kept clean, and safety takes precedence when working with the equipment.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus is well lit at night. We have security officers that are active around campus. I, as a female, have no concerns about walking on campus alone at night.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: We don't have football!! :(

College Junior

Majors: I have not had an internship and I plan to join one that is not a part of this school.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am part of a new degree called Christian care and Counseling. I plan to continue in my education and earn my MA in Counseling at a different school. I have ben quite happy with this program as I wanted to pursue counseling with a Christian perspective so this was perfect for me.

2 College Junior

Party Scene: Because of curfew and the strict rules against drinking, there is a small amount of people who participate in nightlife, but it is not a big part of this school.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: This school is quite harsh on alcohol and drug use on campus or off. This makes it barely seen on the campus. There have been some situations of drug and alcohol use in the dorms but they are punished severely. Off campus there are parties with alcohol and drugs present and there is little action taken on students who come back to campus drunk.

Diversity: We have many different ethnic and racial groups at this school. Those minorities are greatly received and accepted. Because this school is in Oklahoma, there is a heavy presence of the Republican party with little tolerance of the other parties. Most of the student body comes from a wealthier side of society with few exceptions. This is a Christian school but there are a few students with differing religious views. These students are treated poorly by the vast majority of students. Because of the Christian theme at this school, it is unsure if we have any differing sexual orientation at this school. I believe that these students would be very poorly treated by the students if they told anyone.

Scholarships: Surprisingly, there are many options for receiving financial aid to this school. Bothe my sister and I have received $10-13,000 in scholarship from the school itself based on previous grades and interviews. I was a transfer student so this was one of the main reasons I joined this college.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Most of the students are athletic in build and quite attractive. There are people from all over the country and many international students as well. People are involved in all kinds of on campus clubs, events, and outings.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The security on campus is quite good. The only issues is when there have been thefts from dorm rooms from students in the actual dorm. The security members are helpful and they are seen often enough.

The health department needs works. I spent much time in their offices because I have major sinus problems and receive allergy shots each week. I spent the entire first semester trying (in vain) to receive my allergy shots from this clinic. Even though I had doctor's notes, explicit instructions and the serum in my possessions, I had to almost threaten the nurses to let me speak to a doctor before I received care. By this time, I had to go back forty steps in my allergy shot treatment. The doctors are only around when most of the students are in classes which makes it very impractical. Also, you almost have to fight the nurses in order to be taken seriously and given decent care.

Weather: I am from Colorado so living in Oklahoma is very different. The humidity in the early fall in miserable, and the bitterly cold, icy winters are hard, even from an on-campus student. The only season I enjoyed was the last six weeks or so before the end of the school year when the weather was pleasant and mild. The rain is normal, but the campus has leaks and flooding everywhere when there is a mild rainstorm. The ice practically shuts down the campus. Very little ice melt is put anywhere, and very few walkways are cleared from the ice and snow. Going to class in the winter is a life or death situation almost everyday!

College Junior

Greek Life: We do not have a Greek community at ORU.

College Junior

Transportation: I am not quite sure how the transportation options are because I brought a car to campus. I have heard many complaints of the lack of options to get anywhere in the city so I assume that the school needs to step up in those areas.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many options around this campus. Tulsa has a wide variety of chain restaurants, fine dining, and everything in between. There are only a few places that offer discounts of any kind to students, and most are chain restaurants that are not that good. It is also difficult to get to anything good without access to a car as most of the quality places are a drive away.

Nearly everyone at ORU said that if they had to make their college decision all over again, they would still choose this university. Students give high marks to the strong Christian community here, and say that the professors and students are approachable, kind, and helpful. Another positive is the size of the school—it’s easy enough to get personal attention from the teachers, but the school is still large enough that you’ll regularly be able to meet lots of new, unique people.

Overall, Oral Roberts University is a great place for anyone who has a strong desire to become spiritually awake, intellectually alert, physically disciplined, professionally competent, and socially adept!
