I love my field. The professors here are FANTASTIC! They are extremely personal and will do anything to help you succeed. Professors want one-on-one interaction with students. They will give out their email address, office hours, and even their personal cell phone numbers. The Faculty really strives to see students becoming involved on campus. As a Journalism major, I was accepted on staff with our student-run newspaper as a Freshman. Upperclassmen are always helping and directing the underclassmen and trying to encourage and mentor them however they can.

OBU is not just a college, it is a family that is firmly united on Bison Hill. The entire campus is supportive of all the school programs and desire to giving students an positively memorable college experience. There are always activities to get involved in, especially intramural's! OBU music program is one of legend. Students involved in any of Fine-Arts programs are apart of an old, but amazing tradition. The Nursing Program is outstanding and nationally ranked. Athletics is becoming the dominating factor of OBU! All of the athletic programs are dedicated and have the records of success. OBU is the first and only university to achieve a National Championship title in an athletic program first year (2012 NAIA Mens Swimming & Diving Team).

One of the reasons I'm at OBU is because they have a major that not many schools offer. My major is Leisure Services Management with emphasis in Camp Administration- and I love it! My adviser is great, although he sometimes is out of town because he's out working in the field. As long as you don't wait until the last minute on things, it's not a problem. The workload isn't very overwhelming. Some classes actually take you out into the natural environment, even for multi-day trips doing things like backpacking. Internship/job opportunities are abundant, many through past graduates who now run camps, etc. Some classes may seem like they are geared toward sports people, but that is the only drawback.
