Administration: The administration is not down your back. They realize that we are college students and are entitled to our freedom. But certain things are illegal and they will not tolerate those things.

Health & Safety: The campus police do make you feel safe. They campus is always lit so there is no walking around a dark campus at night which also makes students feel more comfortable.

Local Area: Columbus is a city but nothing like cities on the East Coast. There is a nice strip of shops and places to eat right across campus and they take money off of your ID so that is a major plus!

Athletics: Ohio State athletics are a big pride of the school. Of course Saturdays in the fall can not be matched but the school spirit does not die when football is over. Basketball also has a lot of support and hockey is growing.

Transportation: The CABS system is very helpful. There is even an app to know what stops are near you or when the busses are coming. It takes a little while to learn which bus to take but it is GREAT!

Athletics: We had a 24 game winning streak for football. Football basically reigns over everything.

Health & Safety: You just have to be aware of your surroundings. Dont be stupid.

Campus Housing: I live on north, and in an honors dorm. I should have lived on south, that is the true hub of campus life and nightlife.

Diversity: The campus is diverse but that doesnt mean it is not segregated.

Athletics: Ohio State football is a big deal all across campus and all across the country.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Not much money is given out in scholarships. The only thing you get is from your FAFSA.

Overall Experience: I enjoy all of the opportunities that I am presented with at Ohio State. As many people say, you can make a big university small but you can't make a small university big.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is overpriced and the meal plans rip off your money.

Campus Quality: Ohio State is one of the biggest schools in the United States, making it full of opportunities.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: There is always something happening on the campus; you will never get bored.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There is a wide variety of guys and girls on campus.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Ohio State students are allowed to use the CABS and COTA bus systems for free.

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of off-campus dining options along high street, which is also within a close proximity to the campus.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Ohio State is known for its diversity, and most people accept everyone for who they are.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Snow is to be expected if you live in Ohio... The cold weather mostly affects me in the early morning when I'm walking to classes.

Technology: Wi-fi is available all over campus, making it convenient if you carry your laptop around.

Campus Housing: Dorming is quite expensive and required of freshmen. The social experience is a good one to have however.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It has been tough to adjust to such a big university. While it is great that there is so much offered, sometimes it can be overwelming.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: We have tons of libraries, both big and small, general and specialized. There are multiple athletic centers and workout centers that are new and updated. There are tons of clubs and groups and intramural sports for everyone.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: There are many opportunities for study aboard, exchange programs, internships here. The campus has had extensive remodeling to the dorms and updates in the buildings in general. Campus life is hopping, with something for just about anyone, parties, theater, music, museums.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
