Drug Safety: No one pressures me to do anything I want to do and if I do decide to do anything I feel safe.

Scholarships: I came from a class of 600+ at a very competitive high school. I had a 3.79 GPA and 28 ACT (which met the requirements of some scholarships) but I didn't get a scholarship because I was just barely not in the top 25%. Scholarships should not be based on the academic excellence of others, it should be based on my own. If I went to any other high school in my area I probably would have been in the top 10%.

Party Scene: There's always parties going on, and most people are friendly. When I turn 21, there are plenty of bars to attend.

Athletics: GO BUCKS. No other explanation is needed. The fans have all the spirit in the world and fill up every seat in every football game. Even the basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball games don't go without fan spirit. The teams are GREAT.

Transportation: The campus shuttles are usually on time and the drivers are good. The routes are convenient. COTA is harder to catch and harder to understand the routes, but it is free with BuckID.

Weather: It's better than Michigan but it still has intense winter and intense summer but mild fall and spring so it depends on the person. I would prefer summer all year round

Drug Safety: Drinking and smoking hash is huge but it's not my thing and if you're able to have a good time without it people do not care if they are decent

Administration: They are pretty chill with everything but they will be serious when necessary but with normal college things they really do not care or have time to worry about it

Local Area: Columbus is amazing and there are always great events happening locally but without the huge city overwhelming feeling!

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of options at all prices and locations

Diversity: Even if there are many people of the same ethnicity, everyone is generally accepting of everyone. They have a whole center in the beautiful union dedicated to diversity and acceptance.

Campus Housing: We can control our own heat, there is recycling, and the locations of most dorms are close to classes and major dining facilities. I love it

Health & Safety: I am taking a free Rape Prevention and Self Defense Course for women this semester and there are emergency phones all over campus with bright blue lights above it. The cops do actual things instead of just busting up parties

Campus Food: They do not really have a lot of availability at night when everyone is done with classes. Also do not have a lot of variety at most of the places.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
