Party Scene: a big state/ party school. lots of options ranging from clubs to frat parties. theres bascially stuff going on every night although it picks up alot during thurs-sat. theres times where i can hear drunk people at 1am on a monday running around high street. its definelty fun but i would recommend a fake id cause clubs and bars are a huge part of the nightlife

3 College Freshman

Technology: lots of places with computers but theres not anything amazing. wireless isnt too bad

Weather: yeah, the weather is the worst part about osu. i love that it snows alot but its scorchligy hot till like the middle of october which is ridicoulous and then it turns to like 20 degrees everyday. very nice though during the spring and the middle of october to november. other than that its either 90 degrees or its 30 degrees

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: compared to other schools, most of our facilities knock them out of the prk

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: awesome experience that you can only get at a big state school. its basically what you see in the movies except you actually living it. i love it here

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: theres so many options and its really good compared to other schools

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: cops bust parties here and there but its not strict at all here. i smoke weed on campus and as long as your not obvious noone will really notice or care

Local Area: since i come from the philly area and know what an acutal big city is, columbus is really a large college town that has a city looking downtown. if your looking for a real city, you wont find it here. its very laid back and revolves around the college. it seems like everyone from ohio comes from a farm where the biggest attraction is walmart so they all think this is some big deal city since theyve never seen building taller than 3 floors. other than the downtown columbus is very suburban feeling and osu is definitely not a city school like usc or nyu. its more like a lsu, asu or ut austin

Overall Experience: everything was great, i loved it more than anything. the only downside is i wish columbus was more scenic and the hicks on the ag campus are annoying

2 College Freshman

Diversity: not very diverse at all. mostly white people and some international students. i personally like this but some people prefer more diverse enviorments

Campus Housing: i transferred here from another school, so i really wasnt able to have that awesome freshman dorm experience like i had at my previous school, and i was stuck in morrill tower which is more for transfers, upperclassmen, and unlucky freshman so that was pretty boring. i left to live in a house halfway cause it was so dull. however the dorms are all really nice and south campus dorms seem to be fun

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: off campus dining is great! lots of options just a short walk from campus

4 College Freshman

Academics: professors really care about the classes and are always quick to respond to emails. there moslty very knowledgeable as well. however advisors are a hit or miss, some are great some are awful. i had a real bad one named paul heimberger when i was a const managment major but now that im in architecture i have a great advisor. good balance of partying and studying although the partying seems to supercede, which i enjoy. its a large school so registration and all that can seem overwhelimng but the edcuation here is very solid

Local Area: Can see professional hockey and soccer or minor league baseball.

Health & Safety: Campus Police are visible that it deters crime.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: This is my first year at Ohio State University so I'm not very certain on how the Greek life interacts with campus life.

3 College Junior

Academics: The academics is very challenging, but the professors make sure they give you the proper material in order to pass the exams and the class.

3 College Junior

Academics: The major at my school is very challenging, but it would be at the same at every school that offers that program.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I haven't needed to use either the health or safety specialties on campus, but the school always make sure you know where you could go to get the help if you needed too.

4 College Junior

Local Area: I love the school I attend. It is very different from where I came from which is Georgia.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: The campus is very diverse. I have met so many people that are from so many different places, and that have different religious and ethnic backgrounds and I think it is very neat.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
