5 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life, if you're involved, is a great way to meet people and make our big school seem smaller. You will still have a social life if you don't join, but being in a greek organization definitely increases your social opportunities and increases how many people you know.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There is someone for everyone at OSU. People are really active here and everyone is in pretty good shape. People dress well and are mostly attractive. Some people are in serious relationships and others aren't.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many restaurants on High St. that are open really late. These options are pretty affordable as well. Further down High St. in the Short North are nicer, more pricey restaurants to give yourself more variety. These can be accessed by a longer walk (15 or so minutes), cabs or the city bus.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There is a ton of diversity on campus. There are a lot of different groups for such diversity as well, like LGBT groups, Asian Society groups, etc.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Cabs, city buses and campus buses are prevalent.

Local Area: Columbus offers a great variety of places to go. Downtown offers a more "city" experience, the Short North offers more hip dining and bars, campus-area offers cheap places to eat and cheap college bars. There's a niche for everyone and everything.

5 College Junior

Party Scene: Bars are with walking distance of all off-campus housing and most dorms. Cabs are prevalent. House and greek parties are common Friday and Saturday nights. Anyone can have a social life who chooses to.

Overall Experience: I cannot imagine myself at any school but Ohio State. It has given me the best academic and social experiences of my life so far. I feel completely prepared academically, have made incredible friends, have been opened to amazing opportunities and have overall had a great past 2 and a half years.

Drug Safety: It's what you make of it -- drugs and alcohol, like at any school, are prevalent, but students who choose not to surround themselves with people who indulge in such habits wouldn't feel pressured to do so.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
