3 College Junior

Weather: Always stated this is the only state that you can go through all four seasons in one day. But have lived in the state of Ohio all my life you can use to it.

3 College Junior

Local Area: Had a job off campus last year, but I very seldom venture off of the campus area that much.

4 College Junior

Academics: I have always had very good studying habits, but the workload can get over bearing at times, have trouble finding internships, classrooms are nice. Over all I am having a great experience here.

3 College Junior

Transportation: I am from the Cleveland area, and there are quite a few students here from the general area, so it is easy hitching a ride home,

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The main concern for me is at times there can be a lot of non-student on campus causing problems.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I have received a lot of help as far getting help for applying for aid. And have received aid from the school.

3 College Junior

Administration: School and staff are very active in enforcing schools policies.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I play sports so I am not involved with the drinking or drugs.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: I really don't go out. But the few people that I know that does they seem to like it.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: The Columbus area is alive and friendly to college students. I would be perfectly happy with the possibility of establishing myself here after I graduate

Off-Campus Dining: There is a great variety of off campus dining right on high street and there is always something that sounds good within walking distance

Party Scene: There are plenty of options for different nightlife experiences and there are some crazy parties and some that are under control.

Health & Safety: There are emergency poles within sight at any point on campus, and the crime rates on campus are extremely low. I wouldn't go off campus alone at night. The health center is very convenient and welcoming to students.

Administration: The policies at our school are strict but not forced upon students to the point where they hate it. For the most part, students obey the rules so that the rules don't have to be enforced on them, and everyone is happy and loves it here.

5 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: There are so many people from different backgrounds, most people are very accepting and friendly toward everyone.

2 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Would not choose the same major again. Too much focus on the same things in multiple classes (lots of cardio and public health stuff). Very hard to find a job with just a undergrad degree in Exercise Science. After talking to people who majored in the same thing at other schools they received a much better rounded education in Exercise Science and felt more prepared for the work force.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Certain prereq classes and there grades are considered. You also have to state what you plan to do with your degree and what you've done to prepare yourself so far for the degree. Overall not a hard process.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Lot's of off campus housing options. You just have to look out for yourself against the landlords. Never count of getting your security deposit back even if you are the best tenants.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Dorms are great for getting to know people your first year, but after that they are not worth the price. Way cheaper to live off campus.

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Don't walk alone at night! The police do have a presence but there are so many non students around most social gatherings you are never going to know everyone.

2 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: You really have to make an effort as the student to get the answers to the questions you need about specific topics. There are a lot of resources online from the school about aid, but if your situation is outside the box or you don't have help from your parents it can get overwhelming. Best to do your own research on aid and only talk to the school if you have to (because you'll have to wait in line for an hour).

4 Recent Alumnus

Technology: Depending on the day and time it can be hard to find a free computer at some of the labs/libraries. There is wireless all over campus though so if you have a smart phone you're good. Campus tech support always answered questions quickly and effectively.

3 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: The campus shuttle is the best way to get around campus for classes. If you don't have a car it can be hard to get places on the weekends, if you need to get anywhere but downtown or High Street. There are a lot of bus stops around the campus area if you have your BuckID on you.

4 Recent Alumnus

Administration: The police are always visible on the weekends, which adds to the safety factor. Sometimes it was hard to get RAs to press noise complaints against noisier tenants in the dorms. Parking is a bitch. Don't park somewhere unless you have a pass for that area or you will be towed!

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
