Majors: The Broadcast Journalism program is incredible! The professors and administration are extremely supportive.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: As long as your general education courses are complete, it is quite simple to declare your major. The individual advisors are very thorough and successful in helping to declare a major.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drug usage is not very noticeable.

Athletics: OSU has the best school spirit I have yet to see at any university! Our football team went almost undefeated this past year and the Buckeyes truly know how to support their team and celebrate a win.

Party Scene: Everyone at OSU is very friendly and outgoing, therefore the nightlife atmosphere is incredibly fun! There is always something to do or somewhere to go each night of the week, in regard to nightlife, but OSU students are extremely studious so it is much more common for students to go out on Thursday nights, downtown, and the weekends.

Transportation: the student bus is great and there are two other public bus options that run around the city. you can also call a cab but they usually don't just drive around until late nights

Drug Safety: We seem to be a pretty safe campus with drinking and drugs

Health & Safety: I feel pretty safe with security workers, they send out emails if something happens on or near campus to let us know what is happening. The student health center is good, physical therapy is great, but the general medicine is kind of lacking, and their hours are pretty inconvenient.

Scholarships: I did not apply but I heard that FAFSA has a lot of trouble getting the people their money in time so they could not schedule when they wanted to

Greek Life: I'm not in it so I do not know too much about it. They seem to all have a lot of fun and they do not hate you or look down on you if you aren't a greek

Academics: It is a great school but some of the teachers and assistants have accents and it makes it difficult to have questions answered. Also, the process for applying to majors is very long and drawn out.

Diversity: A lot of international students and very diverse people.

Party Scene: It's absolutely amazing if you can get into the parties. Most of them require you know someone in the house so walking around and hoping for the best rarely works out. There's always something going on on the weekends.

Parking: There are a lot of spaces but they all fill up very quickly and the police are very particular about the parking meters and giving tickets. It is incredibly costly to have a car on campus while living in the dorms and the car is usually kept on the opposite end of campus which is a hassle to get to and is rarely used because of that.

Local Area: There is so much to do and so many amazing restaurants to try. The Crew games (soccer) are a blast to go to and the feeling of being a buckeye is overwhelmingly wonderful.

Health & Safety: There are also police presence on campus and the resources like campus security which will pick up students who don't feel safe walking home alone and take them back to their dorms is really convenient and helpful. It makes campus feel really safe. We are always informed if anything happens relating to crime through email.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
