Off-Campus Housing: There is a great variety of off-campus housing options. Ohio State even offers legal services to go over housing contracts with students to ensure they know what is expected of them and so they do not get ripped off. In terms of cost, off-campus housing is considerably cheaper than on campus housing. However, parking is quite limited since Ohio State is located in a city. Off-campus housing is also patrolled by both city and local police.

Overall Experience: Student career prospects at this school are phenomenal. The alumni network is absolutely enormous, which coincides with the phrase, "you can find a buckeye anywhere on the planet." Also, since Ohio State is in the heart of Columbus, which houses many company headquarters, quality employers are often recruiting on campus. The quality of the career center and services are great as well with weekly job postings being sent out to students based on degree program.

Majors: Getting into the Pharmaceutical Science program at The Ohio State University is quite difficult. This degree program is offered at few colleges, which makes it difficult. Applicants to the school of pharmacy at the undergraduate level are assessed by the important criteria of their ACT/SAT scores and class rank, after being accepted to the university. In applying for this program, I didn't have any difficulty, for my application was automatically reviewed after I expressed my intended major as pharmaceutical science on the application. There are not any abnormal application processes, for it is rather seamless after turning in the application for the university. As for tips, if you know you intend to do pharmacy, express that intent on your application so that you can be reviewed for admission. Applying to enter the degree program is much more difficult if you apply later in your college career.

Campus Food: Tons of places to eat, along with many different food types all over campus.

Overall Experience: I love Ohio State. I love the challenging academics, school spirit, social aspects, and opportunities provided. I would not want to be at any other school.

Overall Experience: There are alumni networks all over the country and world. This makes me feel a lot more confident about job security in my future.

Health & Safety: I feel very comfortable and safe when traveling with other people. I do not travel alone. Police have given very helpful safety classes to my sorority.

Off-Campus Housing: Slightly expensive, but it is expected in a large city.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a small scholarship, but the headache of financial aid was due to FAFSA, not Ohio State.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I am involved in both Business and Engineering, so I have a ton of opportunities through Ohio State. The work is tough, but it is expected as a college student.

Academics: There are a few tough professors in every department, but most professors genuinely care about the future of their students and are willing to help.

Local Area: Highly considering staying after college

Administration: Treat students like adults, plenty of freedeom

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The neighborhoods directly around campus will get you killed at night alone. Not recommended.

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly fast food and average quality but there are a few great places to go that really bring the score up.

Greek Life: While they do provide entertainment for the incoming students, they live in the worst squalor with the worst attitudes.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: They don't seem to have their priorities in line with what is actually important or not.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There is a lot of junk choices and two out of three of the commons to eat at are fairly bad quality, while the third (Kennedy) is really quite good.

Academics: My new major is a lot better, the professors are much more adept at conveying ideas. Originally I was in CSE (Computer Science and Engineering), but the people they hired there are either: a) not very good at English, or b) very introverted and that makes office hours a chore to get anything out of them.

Academics: A lot of the online reviews for the class system in many fields here are horrible, especially the math and science fields, while history and english have been awesome for me, the math and science professors look like they would be more comfortable curled in a dark corner of the University and doing there own work, rather than teach.

Campus Quality: There isn't anything wrong that I can see, but I don't have a physical disability, and there might be some problems with wait times at the elevator.

Off-Campus Housing: Either a house or an apartment off campus, and then it's all slums or overpriced as f***. People get raped and mugged monthly, and there was even a person who was found murdered and dumped in a dumpster outside a CVS a block from my apartment which I can no longer afford since they raised the price another $100 a month. Slums for me I guess. Stay at home and commute if you can.

Scholarships: While there is a lot of help available, you really don't have any help searching for anything outside of Federal Student Aid. No ideas or info on anything but departmental scholarships which are 1 in 50,000 chance at getting one.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
