Academics: I feel that we have a ton of options at our school. There's a wide variety of majors including some, like my program, that aren't offered anywhere else in the state really. I think the application process was pretty easy and the curriculum was pretty average. The workload seems a little tough at times but I've gotten through it with flying colors.

Campus Quality: I love about everything my school has to offer. I love our Union and our libraries. I love our stadium and our basketball arena. I love the tradition of the "Mirror Lake Jump" before the M*chigan/OSU game. I love the general (jokingly) common hatred for that school up north. It's a great school with many opportunities and plenty of places to discover.

Greek Life: I feel like Greek life is pretty average. A lot of people are in some sort of Greek life but I am not. I don't have very many positive thoughts on Greek life. I think it's a waste of money for social standing. That's not important to me and I couldn't afford that lifestyle. I'd rather not pay for my friends and just meet my own in my own ways. But other than that, I suppose it's not so bad. I just am a little biased because I'm uninterested in it.

Guys & Girls: I feel like I go to school with a lot of above-average looking people. Obviously there are outliers but overall I think it's an attractive school. Also majority of our students are very social and are very focused on school sports. Football and basketball season are very lively times and everyone seems to have a good time rooting for our school. It makes me happy seeing everyone get together to root for our team. I really do love my school and wouldn't have chosen anywhere else to be!

Guys & Girls: There are 45,000 students. I can't even begin to describe the style or stereotypes. Everything exists here.

Campus Quality: Campus is beautiful and very well-kept. The Ohio Union is phenomenal, not to mention the $143 million athletic facility. Everything is fairly up to date and there's a lot of green space.

Overall Experience: Everything is great. College is all about personal perception. If you have the mentality that you love what you're doing, then that attitude will overflow into your life. I love Ohio State. Even that classes that are hard and suck up more time than necessary. Even the classes that are huge, or the classes that are small. Ohio State really has every kind of class.

Overall Experience: It's THE Ohio State University. Everyone knows this university, even prospective employers. There are alumni all across the planet. There are multiple job fairs on campus. If you need a job, there is no reason you can't find one.

Local Area: Parking is a mess in the city. And so is driving. On campus, it's not that bad, but it's easier to walk or bike. There are an incredible amount of events and activities to engross oneself in, but with big city comes some dangers.

Majors: I plan on having an internship because I need to get experience.

5 College Freshman

Majors: The process was very simple. In the application process, you select your major. Before orientation, they tell you what sort of tests you'll need to take. I had to take a math and foreign language test. For foreign language in order to graduate, you must have at least three years of one language. Other than that, the advisors in charge notify you of what kinds of credits and how many you'll need in order to graduate.

Campus Quality: I really love every facility Ohio State offers. The variety and aesthetic is outstanding.

Athletics: The stadium and rec centers are amazing.

Campus Housing: I'm involved in family housing, so with a child I must have a two bedroom apartment. This is a two story apartment with rent I can have be charged to my tuition rather than a monthly pay system!

I've been corresponding with one of the people involved in student life at the family housing, and he's been extremely helpful and is almost always available.

Academics: I feel like the advisors start ungrad freshman with a simple, capable schedule. The curriculum makes sense and isn't too hard.

Academics: The teachers are also extremely helpful and welcome students to visit them in their office hours.

Off-Campus Housing: You can find a variety of apartments and lofts/studios to live in. The quality depends on the area, mainly.

Party Scene: Ohio State has a good, prevalent party scene but it is what you make of it. South campus is definitely more lively with quicker access to High Street. The best parties are at the frats and off campus houses. I think the party scene has a positive impact on the student experience, allowing students to be able to enjoy all aspects of college life.

Administration: The strictness varies here. As long as you are not causing any major disturbances, you should be fine. They do check dorms for drugs and alcohol at the end of the semester and excessive noisiness in the dorms is not permitted.

Academics: It is wonderful to be in my major program. It offers a variety of electives and options which allows students to be able to fully customize their schedule. One unique thing is that instead of being locked in to certain degree requirements, it is possible to fulfill these requirements at Ohio State with a wide range of classes to suit your interests. The curriculum is tough, but doable and the facilities are top notch. Internship and job opportunities are plenty with huge medical centers being right off campus.

Academics: The academics at this school are fantastic. The professors are often friendly and encourage students to come to office hours. The registration process is simple as well. I was able to create my dream schedule without any problems. In terms of study options and areas, there are thousands of locations. The library has private study rooms and there are study lounges offered in each dorm. One popular study area is in the Ohio Union where it feels like the campus living room.

Guys & Girls: There are students from all walks of life at Ohio State. There is not typical look, since people come from all types of backgrounds. Due to this variety in backgrounds, there is a great variety in interests which is reminiscent of more than 1,000 clubs offered at this school. In terms of social life, it is up to the student. However, if one does want to go out, there are a variety of options both on and off-campus.

Athletics: Ohio State has the best school spirit in the country. Every Saturday thousands of students flood into the Shoe to watch the football games. Ohio State houses one of the best football programs in college sport history. With this degree of domination, the athletic facilities here are next to none, offering top notch equipment. Going to an Ohio State game is an experience one MUST have at least once in their life.

Off-Campus Housing: There is a great variety of off-campus housing options. Ohio State even offers legal services to go over housing contracts with students to ensure they know what is expected of them and so they do not get ripped off. In terms of cost, off-campus housing is considerably cheaper than on campus housing. However, parking is quite limited since Ohio State is located in a city. Off-campus housing is also patrolled by both city and local police.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
