Athletics: OSU is known for its sports program. There are many fans that support all teams, and school spirit is high!

Health & Safety: Safety is important on campus. Emails are sent to each student each time a crime or assault has occurred on campus to urge students to be safe and keep them informed. I feel relatively safe. There are some dangers because it is a large campus next to a large city. There is the possibility of danger even though security is taken seriously.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: So far my professors have been reasonably good, some better than others. Courses are rigorous and have the ability to teach students many new topics. Lecture halls can be large, but classes are a good size. There are many different classes that can be taken.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are many resources to find internships and research opportunities. A degree from Ohio State has high value because the university is well known for challenging academics. Career centers are available to help students with their resumes and their job searches.

Campus Housing: There are a lot of beautiful dorms on campus, but there are also dorms that are pretty awful. Some are new building and are quite wonderful, but there are old buildings that have no air conditioning and are rather grimy. It all depends on where you live. The social atmosphere is awesome. People will come down the hall to see you and it's so easy to hang out with people in the same dorm as you. Housing is quite expensive, but the housing process is relatively easy.

Athletics: School spirit is amazing at Ohio State. Football games are a huge event. Saturdays revolve around them for many of the students. Students are very supportive of the teams at Ohio State University. The RPAC is an amazing place to exercise which is right next to the Shoe where football games are held.

Overall Experience: The Ohio State University is an amazing school. There are many new people to meet and it becomes a second home. The classes can be very challenging, but that's how you know you're getting you money's worth for your education. Some of the professors are amazing and others can be a bit subpar. I have only had good experiences with teaching assistants who are always willing to help. Overall, it's a fun place to be! The Short North is close by for those who love food and art, and game days are always exciting for those who are football fans. There is something for everyone at OSU.

Health & Safety: The amount of crime in and around campus has gone down throughout the past few years however, it still does occur and students are alerted trough email. Around campus there are multiple alarm stations where if there is an emergency, the button can be pressed and police are immediately dispatched to the area. The campus safety provides free rides for students who do not wish to walk home alone at night on campus. Overall, there can always be improvements to safety, but the campus in my opinion is a safe environment

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have had a lot of success with professors. They seem to be very engaged with the students and show passion in what they are teaching. There is a wide variety of class options to choose from along with a multitude of possible majors and minors. There are a lot of classes/lectures with over 200 people, but also a lot of smaller classes allowing for one on one with teachers.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A degree from this school is considered to be prestigious by many. There is a huge group of alumni who continue to support this school and donate money.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is very easy to connect with people living in your community on campus. The proximity to class is great. Some residence halls are much nicer and offer more amenities than other but still remain the same price.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is mainly seen as a social event rather than community service oriented

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: This school takes great pride in participating in athletic events and carrying out traditions revolving around athletics, most notably "Beat Michigan Week". Football is by far the most attended sport, but this school also offers a lot of varsity sports people may even be unaware of

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My school maintains a great emphasis on school spirit and pride which really brings together the student body as a whole.

Considering my school is a state school and one of the largest universities in the country, there is a great aspect of diversity among interests in the student population which leads to a myriad of opportunities for whatever is of interest to you. I would with no doubt choose this school again if I had to.

4 College Junior

Academics: So many degree program options, class registration is easy (especially since I can register first as an Honors student).

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Classrooms are generally good; classes quite honestly depend on which professor you're dealing with.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Career center was helpful with my resume and regularly conducts interviews on campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Expensive; happy to have moved off campus before the two year on campus rule was enforced.

Athletics: I practically live at the rec center and tennis courts; their equipment is up to date, however, Rec Sports has a terrible budgeting problem that causes problems for small club sports teams.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I'm not fond of the Chemistry department, but I do believe this school has given me work and research opportunities that I would have a much harder time finding elsewhere.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Depends on program and college.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: There is a large community that supports graduates of the University

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: There is crime but there is also support. I wish students were notified more of all the crime that occurs.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: They get opportunities not offered to some others on campus, and it is a tight night community

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Lots of opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
