5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: We have half a million alumni around the world. Just saying you are a buckeye is equally as impressive as it helps with networking.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Life is there if you need it. It does not play a huge role in the social scene, though.

Athletics: It's The Ohio State University... Enough said.

Overall Experience: I cannot say enough good things about The Ohio State University. Everyone is so passionate about what they do, and I could not ask for a better place to complete my undergrad.

Academics: I think that the academics at OSU are fantastic. A majority of my courses push me to work harder than I ever had to in my high school classes. Also, in order to do well in them, one has to learn and memorize information as well as be able to understand the explanation behind that knowledge and why things are the way the are. The application of this knowledge and critical thinking skills are imperative in my classes just as they will be in the "real world". The difficulty that this brings can increase the workload, but there are always people available if one needs help.

Health & Safety: Crime does occur on campus and when it does, security alerts go out to students over email. Often times, though, it seems like situations are handled in the best way possible. Also, I believe that it is easy to notify authorities/call for help in most areas if one feels unsafe.

Overall Experience: Overall my professors are pretty good. They are all very passionate about what they do and strive to help their students not only learn but fully understand their teachings. Many professors encourage students to be problem solvers and think outside of the box. Often the difficulty of a course depends on the individual professor for that section. This has many possible pros and cons such as classes with harder professors may get more out of the course while other sections' students fall behind. This could also have the opposite effect as lower level classes specifically may not be meant to be that hard (should be more standardized) and therefore are a bad indication of what students known vs what they should know. In addition, lecture size can be extremely overwhelming at first, but it is very nice to have a recitation class to review material in smaller groups.

Overall Experience: I believe that OSU is doing a great job of preparing me for a future career in medicine. Also, there are always opportunities available to get involved in research, internships, jobs, etc. and the alumni network probably plays a huge role in offering some of these opportunities.

Campus Housing: The social atmosphere and sense of community that come with living in the dorms is the best part about living on campus. However, I think that OSU needs to use a more detailed survey in order to match students up as roommates. Also, compared to living off campus, the proximity of my dorm to my classes could be considered a convenience. Lastly, living in an old dorm isn't awful, but the new dorms are much nicer and have many amenities that the old dorms don't have or can't even compare to.

Overall Experience: I love OSU and couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I love everything about my experience so far from my classes to attending football games and everything in between. There's nothing quite like singing Carmen with 100,000 of your "closest friends" after every home football game or exploring the anatomy lab for the first time and holding a human brain. Also, my courses are challenging and encourage me to think in new ways and my major is full of all around great people that are very intelligent and supportive.

Athletics: Ohio State has a very positive reputation when it comes to its commitment to recruiting the best and brightest Buckeyes, and also promotes a very healthy student population by having one of the largest intramural sport departments in the country as well as widely known varsity sports. Combined, these athletic opportunities create an infectious energy within the student body and a unified enthusiasm for being a Buckeye.

Overall Experience: I would not have had the same opportunities anywhere else, and definitely would not be as confident in myself and my ability to find passion in whatever I do. This school is phenomenal and has really brought out the self-starter in me. It's a place where you must take advantage of opportunities and the resources available to you in order to be truly successful as a Buckeye.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: It's easy to see that Ohio State really does care about the students that attend the school.

Overall Experience: I love Florida State University, I just hated being so far from home. I decided to move back to Ohio to be closer to family.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I absolutely love everything about Ohio State. The diversity, people, and classes that I experience everyday just shows that I couldn't have a better advantage for my future. OSU has extremely hard classes that I am currently struggling with. I wouldn't say that I would not choose Ohio State again if I could do it over, but I would change how I reacted to the studying and amount of work from the start. Compared to other colleges and universities that my friends are going to, I am getting the best of the best education and experiences around. Even though I am struggling now in some of my difficult classes, I know that it will be worth it one day when I walk across the stage as a graduate of The Ohio State University.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
