Local Area: Local area is vibrant and buzzing. Lots to do and see. There are unique shops and eateries. Strong LGBT community if that applies to you, but not overwhelming. Everyone is pretty much accepted.

Off-Campus Dining: Phenomenal. If you do not explore off campus dining you are missing out. Great late night options but also classy dinner destinations in the Short North and German Village. Downtown has some great venues as well.

Majors: We have SO many majors. There is something for everyone but there are definitely stronger fields than others. The sciences are very strong because we are a research university. The business school is great as well as the school of communication. There is also a great language department.

Greek Life: I'm in Greek life and it's great. However, plenty of my friends are not. Greek life is a big part of campus and it is definitely prominent. I do believe you have many more options for events and parties if you are a part of it. Your friend circle will likely be larger, but not necessarily if you are very involved on campus. I recommend it, but no one looks down on you if you are not in a chapter.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
