4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Career prospective and value of degree here at Ohio State is very important and is much needed to succeed and do well to know you are willing to go the distance.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: my housing is good I would rather live in a dorm that offered air conditioning and a kitchen like most other dorms but i appreciate the hospitality my dorm offers.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is okay for most students if you enjoy a sisterhood or brotherhood that can last a lifetime, you can also be proud of the bond you make between them.

Overall Experience: I loved Ohio State initially because I saw how spirited and united the school was under their many successful sports teams. The idea of a large campus in a beautiful city appealed to me, but many other schools fall under that category as well. The true reason I chose OSU over other similar schools such as University of Wisconsin or Penn State is because I truly felt as if Ohio State valued me as an individual and didn't view each student as just one face out of 64,000. OSU granted me a hearty scholarship solely based off my gpa. They recognized the hard work I put into my high school education and rewarded me fervently. I emailed the head of my major department to simply introducing myself and asking her a few questions the summer before freshman year, and she responded within a day inviting me to meet with her when I came to school for orientation. As an out of state student, I really appreciated that she would take the time to meet with me, answer my questions and make me feel comfortable in such a foreign place before school had even started. I believe that OSU recognizes my potential as both a student and a citizen alike, and that notion has reigned true since the day I set foot on campus.

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: They have been changing a lot of the buildings

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: It has been amazing

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Like any campus, there are threats. However, Ohio State officials do an excellent job promoting a safe environment.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The teachers are pretty good and the environment is very accepting. In the end, the individual makes or breaks his or her own college experience.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: As a Fisher Business student, I have excellent career opportunities. The networking prospects are endless.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The facility that I live in (Baker West) is old and out dated. There is no air conditioning and it is embarrassing compared to the newer dorms. However, it is extremely well maintained, all things considered. The staff handles all maintenance issues more than adequately. By far, the social environment makes up for the building itself. We are a family, accepting and loving. There is no shortage of #BakerLove!

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The Ohio State Buckeyes! National Champs ring a bell?

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There is a lot of hype in my area about attending THE Ohio State University. While it is a good school, I have found the experience to be largely overrated.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: The student population is extremely diverse in culture and beliefs and is also very accepting of these differences.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Professors are very intelligent on their subject matter and are usually very enthusiastic. Registering for classes is moderately easy, but classes can fill up quickly. The workload can be significant depending on the classes taken, but time management and personal desire for success makes the workload less overwhelming. There are many study groups and study locations such as the oval or Thompson Library.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus security is very present on campus and I feel generally safe on campus. It is very well lit at night and there are emergency posts all around campus.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am learning a lot in my courses and my professors and TAs are very intelligent and helpful. Ohio State offers hundreds of courses in a variety of topics. Class sizes for lectures are almost always in the hundreds, but classes such as labs and recitations are much smaller and more reasonable to get the instructor's attention and help in.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are always job and internship opportunities displayed around campus. A degree from Ohio State also holds a lot of weight in the professional world.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: While I enjoy the environment and social aspects of dorm life on campus, I feel that some of the buildings are in desperate need of renovation. The bathroom facilities in specific are very poor.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I personally will not be contributing to the Greek Life at my school, but I have heard that many students enjoy getting involved in it.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Student involvement is major in athletics at the Ohio State University. Being a Big Ten school, football plays a huge role at our school. Even though I am not a huge sports fanatic, I still find myself contributing to the school spirit associated with athletics. The athletic facilities which I frequently attend are among the best in the country and are kept up very well.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: After completing my first semester at the Ohio State University in Columbus, I can say that it has been a great overall experience. The student population is diverse, but unified. The students as well as faculty and staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Campus is beautiful and always has something interesting going on. I feel like I am learning a lot in my classes and that my hard work is paying off. I am confident that I will have a successful future after graduation and I'm ecstatic to be a buckeye for the next three years and the rest of my life.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: With 3 huge rec centers with gyms on campus, one off campus, all with state of the art facilities, there's nothing to complain about.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I really like Ohio state. There's always something to do and the classes are challenging but I can learn from them.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
