Diversity: I find the university campus to be extremely diverse with a wide range of cultures, ethnicities, races, nationalities, religions, etc. I enjoy going to class because I receive such a broad, wide-range of view points and there are a variety of experiences that are brought to the table with every topic.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: The FAFSA was easy to fill out. The scholarship application and external scholarships are not made known enough to the students. You have to search the website to find them. The financial aid office tends to not get things done accurately sometimes, because they have so many students. Additionally, the lines are long.

3 College Senior

Administration: I do not live on campus, so am not entirely sure. However, in terms of Academic Conduct, there is no tolerance for cheating or plagerism.

College Senior

Campus Housing: Not Applicable – I do not live on campus. I live in an apartment about 10 minutes from campus.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: Most of the nightlife is off-campus drinking at people's apartments.

4 College Senior

Campus Quality: Student Success Rocks! It seems like it would be tough to get better assistance with school work than what OSU ATI provides. There are professional tutors on staff all the time as well as peer tutoring and combined with small class sizes.

4 College Senior

Weather: Not Too Bad – Its normal northeast Ohio weather which means cold, rainy/snowy and temperamental. However it is not very often severe and student housing is a 5 minute walk from class.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: Agricultural School=Drinking – Here at Ohio State ATI in Wooster everything is all about drinking. Lots of beer and country music. Little bit of weed here and there but that is to be expected.

Local Area: Columbus (And a Student Pop of 50K) Provides Endless Entertainment – I enjoy going to school in Columbus, Ohio. Coming from Connecticut, outside of NYC by about an hour, I'm used to a huge and slightly overwhelming city. Columbus provides a city life with culture and entertainment without being overwhelming.
Touring productions often come through Columbus. There are endless bars and restaurants off campus, both high class and inexpensive. Columbus is also very close to farmland. I take horseback riding lessons 20 minutes outside of the city.
In addition, you'll be hard-pressed not to find something to do on one of the largest campuses in America. OSU provides a major source of entertainment at the union almost every day of the year. Recently the Ace of Cakes team visited to give a panel. Lady Gaga is coming in the spring. I the past Conan O'Brien, Weezer, and other celebs have visited.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: I have had so much trouyble trying to find money to pay for school. The people at the financial aid office are no help. I feel as if i am just another number at this school and i have had incredible difficulty trying to take out loans and search for grants.

Guys & Girls: There is a boy/girl for everyone and anyone. Most of the students around here would say that there is a huge selection of girls/guys. From short, fat, skinny, tall, dark, light, blonde, brunette, you can find any type of partner that you want!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Most of the students are located in the same area West of campus. Businesses arose around the off campus housing making this school its own community with everything including most students within walking distance.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: Easy Process – I qualified for a certain category in which I was given money and a chance to compete for more. I ended up getting full tuition from a few essays I wrote, and even an extra couple hundred by applying to departmental scholarships. All things considered, it really wasn't too difficult.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Pretty Diverse – I've found that there is a large degree of diversity on campus, all kinds of people get accepted at the largest University in America. I've met people of many different races, economic backgrounds, political and religious belief. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Go to High Street – All along high street on the east side of campus are plenty of places to eat. Probably the most popular place, Cane's, serves the best chicken anywhere. There is also a Subway, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Chipotle, Penn Station, and many other food options, even Greek.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: It is really great to be a buckeye at OSU! OSU financial aid will help you if you have any questions! They even have FASFA sessions to help people with their finances for school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Ohio Union! Ohio Union is the best place to hang out or to study. It is very big and it has everything you need for ex, dinning areas, prayer rooms, information, and it also has a piano! If ever bored, Ohio Union is the place to go!

4 College Freshman

Academics: I think the Linguistics department at OSU is the best because it is very big. OSU offers more than 70 languages. The linguistic department also has written a couple of great text books for linguistics. I think I'm really fortunate to study at OSU!

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Fill Out FASFA – Make sure to fill out the FASFA. I received very little in scholarships. Most money was from Stafford Loans and money I will have to pay back. There were a couple of people who did try to work with me only there wasn't any money to get.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Great Social Climate – I stay at Morrison Tower and everyone is very friendly. There is a lot to do and everyone helps each other out.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Good Safety Communication – Everyone is sent an alert at the first sign of trouble. My parents also feel better because they can sign up to be alerted. Also, there are many updates on the website.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: My first year I would've gotten more money if I had better grades, but this year I've gotten enough to pay for school with enough left over to pay for rent and a little extra book money.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining Halls – There are only a few cafeteria-type, because there are SO many up-to-date, cool, fresh, delicious options! You don't have to feel stuck in a routine. You can go somewhere different for like 2 weeks. The food never gets old.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: Wireless Access – You can get online anywhere on campus. Sometimes it takes a minute to connect, but you can log on anywhere.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Process Could Have Been Better – Getting through all of the processes was a bit time consuming and seemed repetitive but it all worked out in the end. You will probably end up having to email them a few times to get a response.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
