Diversity: Coming from a high school with absolutely no diversity, it was nice to come to OSU and meet people from many different religions and races. However, the majority of the school is still white, but there are many resources, clubs, events, etc. that expose students to the diversity present in our school.

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe at Ohio State, even when walking across campus at night. The entire school is very well lit, and OSU also provides a service where, in the event that you do not feel comfortable walking by yourself, they will send a car to come and transport you to where you need to be.

Campus Quality: All the facilities at Ohio State seem to be top notch. Classrooms are all up to date, libraries are unbelievable. The RPAC, Arc, and 3 other rec facilities are all amazing as well. OSU has got it

Campus Quality: The facilities are great and majority of them are new or renovated. Most building are well insulated which helps tremendously in the winter and summer months.

Administration: Ohio State is a very lenient campus. They are strict about underage drinking and drug use but what school isn't. For the most part they give you the privacy and leniency to do what you want as long as you do not abuse the leniency they give.

3 College Senior

Weather: The weather is inconsistent which can be bad or good. Typically it is the worse when we are on winter break so students are not too effected. However if it does get bad while classes are still in session, it has to be like the blizzard of "89" before they cancel classes.

Campus Housing: Living on campus can be a great experience if you are placed in the right dorms such as the Towers or Neil Avenue dorms. South campus dorms are were the fun is but they are not as clean and new as the others mentioned

Academics: classes are too tough after the switch to semesters

Parking: It depends on if you have a permit or not and how good that permit is. If you do and it is for a close lot, then it is great, but for lower ranking students you have to park very far away and catch a bus to campus.

Guys & Girls: There are a plethora of different types of people at Ohio State. There are frat guys, alternative ones, athletes and anything you can think of. The girls can be sorority sisters, indie, or athletes as well. Anyone can fit in at Ohio State with the diversity it has.

Health & Safety: There were some safety issues at the beginning of this semester: there was a series of criminal activity on and around campus. However, that seems to have stopped. I personally have never felt threatened on or around campus. Also, there were a lot of accidents involving bikers and pedestrians. Ohio State did do a good job responding to those issues though: lately I've seen much more campus police and new warning lights and signs have been added in the busier crossings.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: There are lots of dorms to chose from and they seem to be relatively safe. I do think that the dorms are kind of pricey but I guess the convenience of being right on campus outweighs that.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: Nice dining halls but the switch to semesters caused OSU to charge people too much for their mealplans: everyone seems to have extra swipes left that expire before next semester

2 College Freshman

Parking: It is so hard to find a place to park, and it costs a fortune for a pass, but the bus system is great, so it evens out.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There are always police available to escort you to your cars if you feel unsafe. There are also call stations placed everywhere on campus that make it easy to call for help. I always feel safe on campus and never feel like I will be in trouble.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Being a student of OSU, I have discovered that there are many different students with many backgrounds. Many international students find OSU to be the best place to come to because there are many others from their same country. There are many different groups people can join based on religion, political beliefs, and sexual orientation. Some come from privileged families while others are paying for college on their own.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are so willing to help and make the content easy to understand. I have never felt behind and I am actually doing really well in subjects I struggled in high school with. The professors know what they are teaching and are never confused. If the do not know the answer they are willing to find it.

Campus Quality: Ohio State is a beautiful campus! There is so much that I can explain pertaining to this question.

The Oval is the main outdoors for the campus and you will see people jogging, playing frisbee, suntanning, and holding clubs and events. The main library is incredible and it comes with such an awesome atmosphere (if you ever get the chance, go to the top floor and look out onto the campus. The view is INCREDIBLE!)

Campus traditions are fun and energetic! Get-togethers around Mirror Lake pulsate the Buckeye Spirit.

The heart of the campus, the Ohio Union, is a state of the art building that fills very homy and comfortable. It is housed with a coffee shop, plenty of studying areas, 3 restaurants, and much much more.

There is so much to explain but to simplify everything, the student life at this university is one of a kind and simply incredible!

Administration: Campus strictness is very reasonable. If you do anything loud and obnoxious, you are obviously going to get busted, especially if you are bothering other students.

Because of this, there is not a huge stress level with the police and what police officers I have talked to have been very nice and friendly. I have seen some students do some pretty stupid stuff and were caught. Some of those students that were caught either were in danger of being suspended or were suspended.

Drug Safety: Drinking is heavy around Football season and with that, depending on the crowd you hang out with, peer pressure can be reasonable.

Drug visibility is rather low and the only drug usage that I have observed has been on North High Street which is one of the main roads that is right outside of OSU.

I tend to avoid the parties and the Football games since my goal is doing my schoolwork and because of that, I avoid the alcohol and all of the drama that tends to go with it.

3 College Student

Parking: Parking is pretty expensive but you are always guaranteed to find a parking spot. With the campus being rather large, their are plenty of parking spots to chose from.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drug and alcohol rules are enforced if you are caught in a residence hall, but they are unlikely to catch you. The police enforce open containers on front lawns occasionally but generally you are fine off campus. It is very easy to avoid drinking though. I have many friends who don't drink but still hang out with those who do! People often enjoy others who don't drink or do drugs!

Transportation: I don't ever ride campus busing but the COTA bus is very easy to navigate and you ride for free with your student ID!

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: We have a rather large health center. Anyone can go there is they are not feeling well. The safety is negotiable. We have had several incidents in the past off campus that went on every night for a few weeks. It was really scary, but the school apparently worked to make the off campus areas safer after dark. Only time will tell if that actually works.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Some landlords are willing to work with you on any issues, and some just do not care at all; they just want your money. I have found that off-campus housing has some very unfair prices. Some people pay so much to live in a piece of junk.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
