Guys & Girls: There are so many people, you're bound to find someone you click with, just beware of the frat boys... For every good guy we have about 20 sleazy ones...

Off-Campus Dining: There is basically anything you could ever possible want. Ohio State is huge, one of the benefits of this is that we have a ton of options for food.

Weather: The weather here is so unpredictable. It's February and within the same week we've had a high of 56 and a low of 23. It's ridiculous. However, the summers are beautiful and fall is always nice too. Winter is just too long.

Health & Safety: West campus feels unsafe at times especially when it is dark. Need more lights by the buildings and on the paths

Majors: I am an Fine Arts major and all i can say is that it can be really stressful. I find myself putting in A LOT of hours into projects. But I do enjoy it. The assignments are compelling enough to keep me interested (most of the time). The staff is very hands-on, and want to help. It is a lot of work though, and if you want a good grade, you're going to have to put in time.

Health & Safety: I feel safe here at OSU. There are lots of helpful reminders about safety. We have the Student Safety Escort Service which is open late and can drop you off at your dorm or apartment if you don't feel safe walking home in the dark. The only negatives are that we are located in an urban area, so thefts do happen. And there is a lot of traffic that flows through campus, so people occasionally get hit by cars.

Greek Life: The people who pledge love it, but those who don't just like to go to their great parties. So if you want to party, pledge; if you want to make a difference, volunteer by yourself.

Parking: The parking is quite expensive and causes students not to want to bring cars to campus. Even though there are some free parking spots- if you dont pay close attention to the signs you may get towed.

Majors: Another great thing about OSU is that since its so large, it's able to host room for a lot of majors. Ohio State has a top staff that are leaders in their fields, and are doing some amazing research and writing. The staff really care about their students and teach some very interesting classes. No matter what major you choose, you will be very happy at Ohio State!

Local Area: The great thing about living in Columbus is that there's always something to do whether its on or off campus. Whether it's taking a trip downtown to check out the sights and art galleries, eating a delicious ice cream snack at Jeni's, or going to a concert at the Newport across from the Union, you can always find something different to do every weekend. Columbus also has its own bus service called COTA, which OSU students get to use for free with their BuckIDs. The COTA bus service allows a student to head anywhere in Columbus, which also helps when you want to go out and don't want to walk. The one negative thing about Columbus is some of the safety issues at night. Granted that Columbus is a city, there are some pretty shifty people at night. I don't recommend walking around or taking the bus by yourself or with a very small group at night. Otherwise, Columbus is an awesome place to live!

Campus Quality: Some of the best in the country. Very modern, always construction to build new facilities.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Ohio State has become one of the top schools in the nation, having excellent business, nursing, architecture, sciences, and engineering programs.

5 College Freshman

Majors: OSU have a lot of majors im a DM in Accounting and Psych and so far its good very accoumidating the first year in a half is kind of really boring because all your really doing is getting your general crap out the way

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I live in the oldest dorm on camous so its not in the best condition but they are adding new dorms and renovating some of them so Im hoping to get a better one next year.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: there are a ton of campus buses they can just get crowded.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I really enjoy the Business program here at Ohio State. There are plenty of resources to find jobs or internships and the professors all have experience in their line of work

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The recreation facilities are awesome! The RPAC is beautiful and has a lot of group fitness classes and events going on that can get you moving and exercising. The Union is really nice and a great place for clubs to meet. THe oval is beautiful when it is nice out. You know its a great day when you see people on the oval throwing a frisbee

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: We have about 20 options to eat but some of the places serve the same things. Umm using the block system ( 1 block= $5) is tough sometimes because you have to add up the money in your head. I hear that North Commons and Morrill Tower does not have good food. All the good options are on South.

Guys & Girls: OSU is an extremely diverse campus. There are interest groups for everything imaginable and diversity groups for every type of person. The people you associate yourself with at OSU really depends on what your program is and where you choose to hang out. Most people wear fairly casual attire : jeans and t-shirt/hoodie, but you also often find people who are dressed in business casual and business attire. Classes at OSU can sometimes be really large and it's hard to meet people, but getting involved in activities will help you meet people you are interested in. If you are looking to hang out with hipsters or alternative type people go check out Cafe Kerouac. Take your favorite book and order your favorite designer coffee in a pair of skinny jeans and converse. If you want to meet athletic types go to the RPAC, throw on some sweats and strike up a conversation with people near you. If you want the rugged outdoorsy type go hang out at the ARC with the rock climbers - they have awesome arms and abs...No matter what type of person you are looking for...OSU has it.

Off-Campus Housing: I love living off campus, but the area right around OSU campus is not the best. Most of the apartments for rent that are right next to campus are dirty, expensive and to some degree falling apart. If you want to live off-campus near OSU get some close friends (the kind that won't drive you insane) and move in with a few people. Search instead of right on OSU campus go just a little north right in between Clintonville and OSU. The CABS buses go right to Hudson, and it is a safer cleaner neighborhood. Downside is it is only houses and you need several roommates to make it affordable.

Campus Quality: OSU has something for everybody. I particularly love Thompson Library, with its comfortable chairs, relaxed environment and nooks and crannies for everything you need. The libraries all have quiet group study rooms (for when you need to get out of your dorm - make sure to reserve them in advance) and comfortable seating. We also have amazing athletic and exercise facilities from the RPAC for working out and playing racquetball with friends, to the outdoor tennis and basketball courts to the ARC with Rock Climbing. The outdoor volleyball nets are open all night, which is great to get groups to go play later in the evenings. We also have the oval and mirror lake for relaxing and hanging out with friends. There are great places to eat - Oxley's for Grilled Cheese, Sloopy's for Pie, and the little food place under Pomerene Hall for ice cream! There's always something to do!

Athletics: The Athletics at Ohio State University are phenomenal. We have facilities for just about everything from the RPAC for working out, with many additional rooms for various sports such as raquetball and kick boxing. They also have the ARC which allows for rock climbing, which is a great work out and a ton of fun to go with friends. The atmosphere of sports such as basketball and football is not only are our teams great, but they also really inspire the campus. Ohio State is a sport culture, almost everyone is keyed in to what the teams are doing. Just look at campus at the approach of a big game, it becomes contagious with excitement. The games are a great place to go with friends and to meet new people and socialize.

Scholarships: Out of school tuition is very costly. Some scholarships were given to me most likely due to my 4.0 in high school and good SAT/ACT grades but not enough.

Diversity: Diversity is great. People from all different locations and races are here to learn. It teaches us that we are all different and we are all the same.

4 College Junior

Majors: The Social Work program is easy to get in. They do have a lot of prereqs but they also fulfill a lot of the general requirements (GEs) that you need to take as well. You have to fill out an application and go for an "interview". The interview is simple and easy. There's 2-3 people and they ask you questions about yourself, why you want to pursue social work etc. They put you at ease immediately so its not nerve wreaking. Then they let you know within a month whether if you're excepted or not.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
