Transportation: Busses, Busses, Busses – Many students live without a car comfortably on campus. You can walk anywhere!!! And if you can't walk there, you can take a bus! Driving is harder than walking on campus.

Majors: Double Major – I began as a Biology major. Half way through freshman year I decided to double major in Theater. Although I came in 40 completed credits I will have to attend summer classes to complete a BS in Biology and a BA in Theater Arts. Advisers clearly explained what I had to do to meet the graduation requirements.

Campus Quality: Large Campus, Lots of Opportunities – Being affiliated with a hospital and graduate schools allows many research opportunities and jobs for undergraduate level. Columbus is a city filled with culture but still has a midwest homey feel to it.

Weather: Not Pleasant Being Outdoors – Extremely large campus, long walks to class and often very cold so you rush to get where you are going quickly. Restricts use of Rec Center and other facilities somewhat.

Party Scene: The parties are good but the night can also be peaceful and majestic.

Academics: Welding Engineering – I enjoy the program so far but as I expected it is much harder than most other majors. The teachers are good for the most part and I'm hoping for internship opportunities this summer.

Scholarships: Not So Good for Transfers – I was a transfer student and it is really hard to get assistance, especially in the form of scholarships. If I had came here first, I would have been able to get much more financial aid.

Athletics: School Spirit in Sports – Sports are a big part of OSU and the team spirit thrives on campus around game days. They unite the study body and get them excited for their school. The teams seem to be pretty good, too.

Campus Quality: Great Libraries – The libraries are great. There are multiple ones on campus and they have a good atmosphere for getting things done. Plus, there are smalll cafes in most libraries which is really nice.

Campus Quality: Clubs, Clubs, Clubs – We have SO many different types of ways for students to become involved at Ohio State. There are over 1,000 clubs ranging from Tye-Dye Club to Mock Trial Club. There is a club to cater to every interest. There are also lots of intramural and club sports that people who are not on varsity athletics are able to join.

Greek Life: The Greek life is not a part of very many students' lives at Ohio State. Mostly people just join in order to have a place to party.

Campus Quality: Student Life – Ohio State has so many things to offer to student life. The Ohio Union is a great central spot that combines so many aspects of campus in one place. It has countless rooms for club meetings and study sessions, three spots for on-campus dining, a ballroom, and even comfy couches and fireplaces for cozy late-night studying. The RPAC is also another great spot on Ohio State's campus. There are so many different types of workout activities, there's something for everyone. There are group fitness classes, five pools, sport courts, and numerous amounts of cardio equipment.

Academics: Wide Range of Opportunities. I currently go The Ohio State University in Mansfield, however this fall of 2012 I am transferring down the the main campus in Columbus. The Ohio State University offers incredible opportunities for a wide variety of studies. For example, my major, public affairs, OSU has connection with organizations all over the world and sends you to Washington D.C. to do an internship your senior year, which all counts for credit towards graduation. The work course load all depends on your major of course, but it's never too much as long as you prioritize correctly, and do not take too many overwhelming classes at once. They offer a wide range of classes to take as well, whether it be totally incorporated towards your major, or just a "fun" class. Personally for me, I enjoy art classes such as music, film, and writing courses, and they offer more than enough for everyone. Special studies options are also available nearly everywhere on campus. There is a few libraries, on top of special study groups for certain subjects all over campus. There's always a chance to be caught up.

Technology: Could Be Updated – With as much money The Ohio State University receives each year they could afford to update their systems. I go to the branch of OSU in Mansfield, and a lot of rooms have mac's, however, a lot of them are not updated, or do not work anymore. The PC's aren't that useful either because they're insanely slow, same with the wireless access for your laptop. You also have to print to pay now, which is seven cents per page, which is not a lot, however, you put put money on your BUCK ID card to print, which is a pain in itself to get money onto it sometimes.

Campus Quality: Not only are we know for our amazing sport teams, die hard fans, and athletic passion but our academics are top notch too. We are home to some of the best programs in the country for vet school and chemistry. Not to mention our outstanding business school. Overall, this university has a lot more going for it than just the football team.

Administration: Where You Are – The strictness really depends mainly on where you live on campus. Areas known for partying and underage drinking are more strict than those areas thought of as the "studious" parts of campus.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: OSU has campus busses that run regularly & they purchase a city bus stop for each student. Transportation is great!

2 College Freshman

Parking: Parking is hard and cost is high. Freshmen cannot have a car on campus.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: What It's Like to Live on Campus – Living on campus is the greatest because it's close to everything. OSU has a huge campus, so it's far to walk from one side to the other, esp. if you don't live on campus, or live on the edge of campus.

4 College Student

Campus Quality: Campus Activities – OSU has an outstanding selection of campus activities. You can find something for everyone! From trying a new athletic skill, a club associated with your major, or and endless amount of other activities.

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: Size Is a Major Advantage – The sheer size of the school allows a person to pursue any area of academic interest he or she desires, combine any two majors within colleges, and even design one's own major. The Chinese and Japanese programs here are excellent, especially the Flagship certification combinations with non-language majors. The only area that is bad is the Chemistry department; if one is planning to go here for Pre-Med, take as many courses as possible elsewhere and then transfer.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
