Majors: I really enjoyed the program. Most of the classes were interesting.

4 College Senior

Majors: The program was not selective. You just had to apply.

4 College Senior

Majors: I enjoyed most of the classes. Some seemed fairly pointless.

3 College Senior

Majors: I never had an internship while in college and I dont plan to.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I lived in a learning community my freshman year, and I hated it. Do NOT live in the International House LC because you are likely not to make very many friends.

Academics: I am entering my sophomore year as an undergraduate. I have completed mostly GE classes, but I have been challenged by a few, and not challenged by some.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Ohio State is an excellent school for sports fans, and athletes alike. There is a great athletic diversity at Ohio State. There are tons of options for intramural sports as well, and great fitness, and group fitness offers all year.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus is not what I would consider a strict place. You pretty much have the freedom to do whatever you want whenever you want so long as it's legal. There are rules on drinking, but honestly those are not enforced at a totalitarian level, just don't drink in your dorm room, because you'll probably be loud, obnoxious and caught.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It is often cold on campus but wearing the right clothing will make it easier to walk to classes. Scheduling classes close to where you live will help prevent walking too far in the cold. When the weather is warm, many students are on the oval enjoying the sun.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are a lot of scholarships available but there are a lot of students.
I received a Buckeye scholarship but doesn't cover all the costs.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity There is more awareness with all the social clubs

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Ohio State offers so many extracurriculars and clubs that whatever you are into and whatever you are looking for you are bound to find it here. From BBQ club to Quiddich club.. the opportunities are endless.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Ohio State is well known for its nightlife. There are really good parties and some places for underage nightlife as well. There are also many taxies that provide transportation as well.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are always good and bad apartments. The better ones are usually farther from campus or very expensive near campus. Parking is always expensive, but the safety on campus is really good.

1 College Freshman

Parking: HORRIBLE! Parking is expensive and few and far between for actual spots. Plan at least 20 extra minutes in order to find parking.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Not only are the varsity sports a huge aspect of the life at Ohio State but the non-varsity sports are open to everybody and have many various options.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: In regards to personal health and safety, students receive multiple email warnings about outbreaks, crimes and how to improve personal safety.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: The parking passes are very expensive and students are not always guaranteed a spot close to where you live. There are plenty of spots located on west campus and buses run at almost all times to get to classes and back to your car. Tickets are common and people get caught easily if the meter runs out of time or if the car is parked in a wrong area.

2 College Sophomore

Administration: Many professors are the most strict about plagiarism and students can easily get caught when citing quotes wrong in their papers. The RAs and hall directors are pretty strict about underage drinking and illegal substance abuse in the dorms.

Greek Life: Greek life is currently growing a lot, with the addition of a couple new fraternities & one new sorority. Most fraternities will have parties, which are usually fun & aren't a status thing but it helps to know someone in the fraternity if you're a guy. There's a mix review of how non-Greeks view Greeks, from a good opinion to no opinion to viewing us as people who "pay for their friends" so it depends who you talk to. Most chapters have their own house which allows members to live in.

Parking: Parking passes are really expensive, so it makes it difficult to afford having a car on campus & students typically only are able to get passes for west campus parking which aren't close to central campus classes so you have to take a bus to get there & it can take a little while depending on where you need to go.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Dorms aren't bad, the social atmosphere is pretty good depending on the dorm you stay in, south is typically known for being more social whereas north is known for being the more studious dorms. I stayed on north, found it rather social & still convenient for studying. Housing process is pretty easy & organized as far as assignments & move in/out, cost is a bit pricey.

Campus Food: There are lots of places to eat, that's for sure. But after navigating everywhere, you want more places to go!

Local Area: Columbus is the capital city of Ohio and with that said, it's a great city. You will find anything and everything here that you may be looking for. In downtown Columbus, there are various events that go on daily. The Short North is one of these. No matter who you are or what you are interested in, you will find someone here that is interested in the same thing!

Campus Quality: Ohio State is like a small city. Plenty to do on campus (movie theater, restaurants, coffee shops) , new renovated student union, bus lines to all your classes and surrounding apartment areas. Classes are challenging but professors are easy to work with. A lot of different organizations that you can join and a diverse mix of students. Public transportation is free with your BuckID. Student discounts! I once saw Chris Rock for free! Free or low cost concerts and a plethora of other events. Overall, a good college experience.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
