Campus Food: Special Is Few and Far Between. Some places are really good to get grab n go, especially if you don't live on campus, like The Union or KSA Cafe. Meal plan is alright, you will almost ALWAYS have swipes left at the end.

Guys & Girls: Huge Mix of People – OSU has a pretty even guy to girl ratio, and pretty much every single type of person you can imagine. It is not hard to find someone you find attractive here (or many people). Girls don't really care too much about their appearance while on campus - think sweats, no makeup, workout gear - and guys are pretty torn between caring and not caring. But the weekend is a different story; everyone gets dressed up in their best.

Campus Housing: I transferred as a sophomore and lived on North Campus for Winter and Spring Quarter. I had two roommates and we shared our own bathroom (which was nice, no floor bathroom like in south campus), a living room area, and a bedroom. I really really disliked one of my roommates (the other was cool), but because I didn't know anyone coming here I was kind of just shuttled in with them. But North Campus has absolutely NO social life. You need to go to the bars or South Campus to experience that.

Transportation: Just as Easy to Walk – OSU is a big campus at first, but as you narrow down your classes and especially when you get down to your major classes, getting to class isn't bad. I can get across campus walking in about 15 minutes, from Fischer to the Union. Transportation is great for getting home if you live off campus, but not necessary.

Majors: You can find an internship for everything. The college website gives a whole list of places looking for interns for you to choose from.

Off-Campus Housing: Bad Area – I personally have not lived near campus but my friends have and its not very safe. Peoples apartments are always broken into and housing is getting vandalized frequently. My friend watched his living room door knob get turned from the outside by someone checking to rob him.

2 College Junior

Parking: Takes a While – You have to plan ahead to find a good parking spot. Parking costs are rising next semester and your competing with 65,000 students for close parking.

Weather: The weather isn't that bad at all. Every now and again you get rain or snow but for the most part it isn't a problem.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Varsity sports are a large part of campus life whether on main campus of a branch. Our facilities and couches are some of the best in the country.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: Dining Grade – I think there are many different places to choose from so no matter what mood you are in, you can find something you want.

Majors: Promising Future in Nutrtion and Community Health – My program is Nutrition and Community Health. I have no regrets about choosing this path. With a major involved in health care there are plenty of job opportunites. I really like studying it, and it fits in with my career goal of working in the medical field without medical school, and I can work with kids. My only complaint is that the academic advisor rarely have open appointments, and are not all that helpful with scheduling or getting back to you on questions involving scheduling and classes that you need to take.

Weather: All Four Seasons. (Sometimes in One Day) – It's Ohio so the weather can be completely unpredicticable. It can go from 70 and sunny to freezing in the 30s all in one day. You get to experience all four seasons which can be both a blessing and a curse. Fall is usually beautiful. Winter is cold. Classes never get cancelled. And it doesn't really snow more than an inch or two, but it ices and can get really slippery. But once spring warms up campus is really pretty. All through spring and summer though everyone goes to the Oval and turns it into our verison of the beach with frisbee, football, cornhole, and just hanging out with friends.

Transportation: You Don't Really Need a Car. Transportaion around Columbus is pretty simple. There is a campus bus service, and a pass to ride the Columbus Bus is included in tuition so it is free with a Buck ID. But even with the buses everything is within walking distance. Late at night there is also a student safety service that you can call and they will come pick you up and drive you home. The only real need for a car is when you move off campus and need to do things like grocery shopping. But as long as one roommate has one, you can all go together and you really don't need a car.

Campus Quality: The RPAC Is Amazing! Ohio State's Rec Sports facilities are amazing. The RPAC is currently the largest rec sports facility in the USA. It is only one of five facilities. It contains anything you could possibly want to do to stay fit and maintain your health and wellness. Not to mention their incredible and very helpful staff. Thompson Library, one of the many libraries is incredible. The view of the 11th floor of downtown at night is beautiful. And the Ohio Union is under five years old. It has three places to eat, plenty of places to study, and all kinds of resources for students to use. It really shows Ohio State's school spirit.

Greek Life: My friends that are involved in Greek life really like their experiences. But Greek life does not have a very strong presence on campus. Most parties that are thrown are not Frat parties. Very few students that are not invloved in Greek life, and are not freshman attend any Frat Parties. Most of the non-Greeks view the presence of Greek life as kind of pointless and dumb with typical sterotypes of frat guys and sorotity girls. They avoid sorority row and frat parties but no real problems exist between the two groups.

Parking: Could Be Better – There are very few places for students to park directly on campus. The dorms have very small parking places and can make finding a spot near holidays difficult. The options for parking are expensive also. The university could do better with on campus parking

3 College Junior

Diversity: There is a vast diversity on campus. Some majors may be filled with a more distinct race or religion than others but walking around campus you see a wide range of different people.

5 College Junior

Athletics: High Quality Athletic Organizations – Not only are the varsity sport organizations top notch at osu the intermural sports are also amazing. There are many organizations to be involved with, each has amazing fitness crew and the chance to improve performance is extremely high. If you don't think the fan support is amazing there is something wrong. Most sports almost sell out to students throughout the year. OSU has the best athletic programs a college can offer

Administration: A loose leash – Gordon Gee isn't your mom. Although OSU takes measures to keep campus safe, those measures are restricted primarily to safety. The police wont bother the typical Friday night partier or the sly stoner smoking a joint on the oval. As for residence halls, it completely depends on your RA. My RA was very relaxed and wouldn't reprimand for drinking in the dorms. But I've also heard horror stories of RAs going to great lengths to bust residents for drinking and smoking weed in the dorms. Keep your head down when the cops come around and don't cause a scene and you will go 4 years without a problem.

Health & Safety: Somewhat Safe – alot of crime on campus but is addressed by campus police

Local Area: There Are a Lot of Places to Eat – The surrounding areas have an abundance of choices of places to eat. They have your gerneral strip malls and a cinema 10 movies theatre. The good thing about the campus I am on is you can drive 1 hour in either direction N,S, E, W and you are in a big city where there is anything you want that big cities have to offer ie.. shopping malls, museums, amusement parks, etc.

Diversity: This School Does Have an Over Abundance of Agriculture Majors – Due to the fact this school is heavy in agriculture, there is an exceptional amount of caucasional individuals. It appears that most are rednecks and honky tonkers. It gives the apperance that the students are of less intellegence than would be found at other colleges. When that is not the truth. OSU has a wonderful Vetenarian program and Nursing prgram, both which reuire a GPA of 3.2 or higher to continue.

5 College Junior

Campus Food: Food Is Amazing! The campus offers tons of varieties in eating choices, along with hotspots for food all over the campus. Tons of eatery places provide food in respect to special religious obligations for certain students. While without a doubt the food tastes absolutely spectacular.

Weather: The weather in ohio is drastic and changes frequently, usually through the course of one day. If its snowing one minute, it'll be absolutely snow free and wonderful the next. Snowing affects travel time in getting to class especially since the campus is already crowded. But don't let it phase you, as in the fall and spring the campus has an absolute rustic, calm and beautiful feel thats pleasant for studying, chilling or partying :)))

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Limited Parking – If you live on campus, parking isn't really an issue and you can walk to most of your classes. The COTA is free for students with a BuckID and there is the university bus system as well if your classes are too far to walk. But commuting is a pain. A parking pass is very expensive and you still can't park most of the places that are closest to class.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
