Administration: Depends on the course and the professor, but overall I don't think the campus is very very strict.

Off-Campus Housing: OSU is a big campus with many students so there are limited availability of good housing around campus. Parking can be a hassle if the housing does not have its own parking lot. Pro is that cost is pretty cheap compared to housing in the east or west coast. And even with limited availability, one always seem to be able to find housing somewhere around campus.

Diversity: As an international college, Ohio State has a very diverse population of students -- plus professors from all over the world!

Academics: There is almost no end to the classes you can take at Ohio State University! As one of the biggest and more respected colleges in America, the professors are qualified and the classes are diverse.

Party Scene: I'm not much of a partier, because I'm too young for the bar scene and too busy studying to spend a lot of time out! But Ohio State has a lot of opportunities to go out and enjoy time with friends. Either you can go out in Newark, or you can go to the Columbus campus, where there are restaurants and bars nearby.

Academics: I'm enrolled at the Newark campus of Ohio State University, and they've been very helpful with my admissions and my plans for college and post-college. The on-campus life is fun, the classes are small, and the housing and food options are great. I've been especially pleased with the response of the admissions counselors, especially Mark Fegley, who's quick to respond to any questions I have. I'm looking forward to getting to know the professors at Ohio State Newark even better once I start classes in August.

Party Scene: There are many bars and eating places close to campus. Public transportation is free so easy to get to. Most places are in walking distance.

Health & Safety: Ohio State University have their own police and there are many places on campus where there are emergency contacts.

Academics: Ohio State has some of the best athletics in the country. Check their record.

Health & Safety: Even though OSU is in a big city, it is super safe to walk around (even at night). We are far enough from the city that we don't get many of its effects. We similar have blue safety lights and escort services to help students be safe.

Technology: In general people can find available computers but at times there are none available.

Campus Food: As far as campus food goes, Ohio has pretty good choices as there are a variety of places where people can eat. We have three all you can eat dorms and the rest are you pay for what you buy. Some of the best things is the Starbucks on campus that people can use their meal plans for.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There is some diversity here but in general people are white, middle class, christians.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Columbus is a medium size city with a variety of things to offer. A big attraction is the Short North area for its wide variety of different restaurants, shops, and bars. It is a popular place for students and young professionals to relax after a long week.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many great places to eat right near campus. There are many different options. Cheap, fast food; sit-down restaurants; bars with good food.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There are campus buses and COTA buses that are able to transport students to where they want to go. Riding the COTA bus is free for students of the university.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are many professors that are tough and classes that require the students to devote much time and effort to them. However there are many buildings on campus that provide help to students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are many internship opportunities for an Anthropology major and an interesting variety of jobs available. There are field school opportunities to help enhance student's knowledge in the field.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: There are many fans throughout the campus and school spirit is incredibly apparent during any sporting event. There are a variety of athletic facilities provided around campus to better the health of every student.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is a large variety of off campus dining options that are pretty reasonable in price, cost, and quality. Many restaurants accept money off of the student's school ID card so they do not even have to use cash or a credit/debit card. The cost is fairly cheap but not super great. There are restaurants everywhere making it convenient to eat anytime.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: It is always nice to have a personal computer for college but there are many resources students can use if they do not have one. Every library on campus has a high number of computers available to students and most have the ability of wireless printing. Printing does cost money, but only about 10 cents a page. The network reliability is normally fairly descent.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The Ohio State University is known for having a high diversity in ethnic and racial background along with political beliefs. Most students are pretty accepting of the many ethnic groups seen on campus. There are also many groups and organizations that different ethnic students can join in order to meet others that are similar to them.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm a Fine Arts major and many of the classes are interesting, however there are some instructor that are more interested in talking about themselves than teaching you how to do something. Also the workload can get a little crazy.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene isn't huge, if someone does drugs, it's typically pot. I feel like you see a lot of alcohol usage on campus.

Campus Quality: All the facilities are recently renovated and great places to hang out and study. RPAC rated in the top 5 best rec centers in the nation!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
