Weather: Summer's can get really brutal. Winter is cold. Fall and spring are the best times. Weather's bipolar: it can be sunny in the morning and pouring rain 2 hours later. It's Ohio weather.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Nothing special. The computers in the library sometimes run a little bit slow. It's difficult to find an open computer in the libraries depending what time you go. I'm in engineering, and the computers in the computer labs are good. They just get filled up quickly when everyone has a lab due the next day.

Health & Safety: I have never actually felt unsafe while on campus. I have heard stories of people feeling unsafe though and they had very good reasons why.

1 College Junior

Campus Food: there is no dining and i think that there should be. Especially for students who only have a few minutes between classes, they dont want to have to leave campus to go get lunch.

2 College Junior

Guys & Girls: You will find a variety of people on this campus but it is very hard to get to know someone. Since most students are from high schools around here, you can go into a class and know at least one person.

3 College Junior

Weather: Ohio can be scorching in August, freezing in winter, and unpredictable in between. The walkways are flooded easily, but snowfall is gorgeous and the paths are cleared and salted quickly

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: OSU goes out of their way to provide the most safety to students possible with emergency phones absolutely covering campus grounds. However it is a big city and there are occasionally minor disturbances and accidents due to construction areas on campus.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Campus transportation is fairly convenient, the longest I have ever waited was maybe 5-7 minutes. For students it is free. With a BuckID from the University you can ride buses that run in Columbus and parts of campus for free, however I do not use them.

2 College Sophomore

Majors: The College of Education and Human Ecology is somewhat confusing. The academic counselors seem preoccupied and there is not really any personalized attention or care to your academic issues. You feel like a number.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is a ridiculous number of international students, and diversity is very present.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: Columbus is incredibly exciting. Lots of cool museums, nightlife, local sports and fun and unique things to do. Columbus, especially around the university, is a sort of college city too, if you will.

2 College Freshman

Administration: As of recent years, they have become increasingly more strict. You WILL be caught if you do anything stupid in your dorm, and punishment can be pretty harsh.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Make sure you have a good GPA. Be sure to apply early. Review your financial aid status often, at times they mess up.

Diversity: Campus life can be very diverse, but classes are so diverse depending on the subject. People can be very kind at other times and not accepting.

Majors: As a mechanical engineering major, I have been more than satisfied with OSU's program for engineering students. Currently, I am in the first year experience part of the program and am interacting and learning with all different engineers. This allows me to hear what it is that others are interested in and learn more about what engineering opportunities are out there. If I could do it over again, I would still choose the program I am currently enrolled in. As for my career goals, I would like to work in either the aerospace or the automotive industry for the majority of my career and possibly retire from that to teach high school physics or math, as these fields are very prominent in engineering. I do not have any concerns thus far with finding a job as OSU is very good about setting their students up with co-op and internship opportunities through the Engineering Career Services office.

Guys & Girls: The girls at OSU are about average. There is quite a number of girls, so no matter what your type is you're bound to find it here. There are also a lot of international students, both guys and girls, so if you would like to branch out and meet someone exotic, you have the opportunity.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: The Greek Life at OSU is available for those interested in partying or finding a group of others that are interested in the same things they are to hang around with. This sounds about like Greek Life at many other schools, based on reviews I've read. I would say Greek Life at OSU is about average, but because the school is so large and has so many students, there are many opportunities to join quite a number of different Greek organizations.

Local Area: The local atmosphere at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio is fun. The shopping centers around campus are great. Variety of different types of dining inexpensive to expensive. Ohio State football is the number one sport that students as well as locals enjoy watching.

Weather: I want to be honest. Ohio weather is terrible and you will get use to it fast. It rains , snows, and its very windy anytime anywhere during anytime of season. It is awful !

Academics: I came to ohio state to learn more about the community and life in Ohio. I lived in Texas for over 10 years and I never traveled to any other state. It was new experience for me and Ohio State helped me connect with others both socially and mentally.

Weather: Although we have not had too much trouble with snow or classes getting cancelled, it does rain a significant amount here. Although it is not dangerous, it makes things very inconvenient and dreary.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Some of the girls here can be very vain and stuck up, and they guys have very little experience with how to approach girls. Although there are some flaws, the school spirit and kindness of individuals at OSU makes up for them

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The Fisher College of Business is an excellent school within OSU. We have great engineering and pre-med programs as well.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: Diversity is huge here. There are students from all around the world.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
