Campus Quality: The Student Union – Just recently, Ohio State has completely remodeled and built the new student union. Everything you can imagine can be found within this facilty. From food to club meetings to a dance studio, a student can find almost everything needed here.

Campus Quality: Health and Fitness – Ohio State offers many programs and facilities that helps to provide students with the opportunity to stay healthy and fit. Facilities such as the RPAC and the Jesse Owens are prime examples of this. Within the RPAC, the facility provides free group fitness classes along with healthy choices for food.

Administration: Honor Code – Ohio State takes pride in their students honoring the honor code and what it represents. If a professor even suspects a student plagerizing or cheating is involved, you are immediately reported to the university and there will be immediate action.

College Sophomore

Academics: I have not actually gotten into my major yet but the prerequisites for my major can be challenging and the workload can be a bit much at sometimes but if you set aside the time to study and do your homework, you will be fine.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: High Expectations – The professors are willing to help you if you are willing to ask them. The science classes can be difficult but they are worth it if you are willing to work at it. Professors and students are always encouraing underclassmen to ask for help if they need it.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Not That Bad – If you do something really bad, you will get punished severely but if it is something slight, then they could let you off with a warning.

2 College Junior

Administration: I really dont go out as often. but i do it is off campus. I dont know any of my friends getting into trouble or anything like that.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The girls and guys at my school are dope! They know how to have fun and work hard at the same time.

3 College Junior

Weather: Decent for Now – The weather in Ohio is decent i have only been here for a few months so I havent really gotten to much info.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Not Too Bad – While there are not too many places to park without a permit, the Ohio state university provides a lot of places where you can pay and park that are in good locations relative to the popular parts of campus. The parking can get very tricky during game days though.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking permits cost a lot and can cost up to $500. The biggest problem is traffic and construction on campus. Be sure to get on campus within 30 minutes of your class in order to be on time.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Walk or Bus – In order to get to class on time, you should probably not use your own car (unless you are commuting of course). If you are in walking distance or can easily access the COTA bus system, you should probably just walk or use the bus. Being an OSU student gets you free access to COTA and CABS, the bus systems for columbus and campus. Using your own car can be a hassle because parking permits cost so much and parking is somewhat limited and you have to go around so much traffic and it's just not worth it.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: So Far..Not So Good – So far I have only taken a few classes, and most of those were chemistry classes. I feel like the entire chemistry department is out to make students fail or to switch their majors. I understand some difficulty, but there is a distinct line between difficult and outrageously difficult to the point of tears.

Athletics: Tradition Is Everything – The Ohio State University has one of the top athletics programs in the nation. On game days the whole campus is buzzing with excitement. Attendence at every athletic event is tremendous. There is nothing quite like it.

Diversity: Everyone's Welcome – Diversity is great on campus. I personally have met students from all over the world. Also, acceptance isn't so much of a problem.

Academics: I feel that, at OSU, there is so much to learn. The professors I've had have stuck pretty tightly to the curriculum, and have taught me a great deal about what I'm interested in, and what's going to help me in the future.

Party Scene: Always Something Going on – Nightlife at OSU is awesome. There's always several events and parties going on both on campus and downtown (which is practically right next to campus).

Academics: The professors and counselors at Ohio State, for any major really, are willing and ready to be involved with helping students excel in the university. They also help give you the tools you need to find a good job upon graduating, and they can also help you find one.

Health & Safety: Safety at Mansfield Campus – On the walking trails there are emergency posts and security is available if you need someone to help you get back to your dorm room or apartment at night. I feel pretty safe there.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Since a lot of kids who go to the Mansfied campus also live in Mansfield, it makes parking harder. But getting up a little earlier before class helps if you want a good spot.

Off-Campus Housing: Mansfield Campus and Ashland University Housing – I absolutely love the Ashland apartments. They are brand new and very spacious. The apartments are actually also cheaper than the Molyet Apartments, OSU's apartments.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Engineering Work Load – the Engineering work load is intense. The amount of work & difficulty of required classes is hard.

Majors: I loved the engineering classes at OSU, but the General Chemistry & math classes leave something to be desired.

2 College Sophomore

Majors: Engineering Classes – The Engineering program itself is reasonable, but the math & science classes required for it are extremely difficult. OSU is a very competitive environment for those accepted as freshmen to main campus.

Off-Campus Housing: You May Have to Work Hard to Get an Apartment Near Campus. There are apartments all around campus, but there are also tons of students. Your apartment search has to start early. There are a lot of realtors specifically designed to find students housing near campus. To get prime real estate close to campus often times you have to get a waiver from the realtor and personally go door to door asking if the residents are moving out at the end of their lease, and if so have them sign it so that you can be first on the list for that apartment. So unfortunately there is not a wide selection, actually a lot of times you don't even get to see the inside of the apartment until you sign the lease especially if the apartment is in close proximity to campus.Landlords are understanding and generally easy to handle.Possibly because they are afraid of the student housing lawyers that students have easy and cheap access to for the slightest injustices on the landlords part.Parking is pretty awful near campus. Not only do you have to buy expensive parking stickers but there are tow trucks everywhere too.Its pretty common to have been towed at least twice during your four years here.Safety has been pretty bad as well. The campus is safe, but there are known gangs nearby that terrorize the off campus housing market.Location is everything in finding housing off campus. It's hard to find a place close enough to campus to feel safe, but if you do living off campus is easy and the freedom is great!

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
