Majors: To get into the Neuroscience program, there aren't much criteria. I would advise meeting with the advisor if you choose Neuroscience because of the program's rigor. He/she will talk with you and discuss whether you are a good fit for the program.

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet, but I plan to apply for one at a hospital within a research institute. I want the professional and academic experience involved with working in a research lab. Finding internships are hard, but as long as I look in the right places, I might be able to find one. My professional training so far has included a research assistant position in a research lab and an administrative assistant to a professor.

Majors: My program, neuroscience, just began this year, and the classes are very difficult. I have had to drop my major class this year because I did poorly on a midterm and my few other friends in that same class followed suit. My advisor has told me that the class is currently under review because of its difficulty and because certain classes have been taken straight from the OSU medical program. I love Neuroscience so I am trying my best to stay in the program but I might have to consider switching to Nutrition simply because of its difficulty and rigor. I want to apply to medical school, and since I'm not doing great, my GPA has dropped, and I need a great GPA to apply. I'm not too concerned with finding a job as a doctor considering I have 10 more years of school to go through.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus; however crime is an issue if you leave the academic campus late at night. Campus police are there to assist if you need them and are always seen patrolling at night, which is excellent.

Athletics: Love all sports teams at OSU. Football is my favorite season

Campus Food: Absolutely delicious. You can find good food for almost anything you are in the mood for.

Parking: You cannot find parking on campus usually. If you do, it usually costs a significant amount to do so.

Majors: At Ohio State, the Social Work major students are a pretty small group. Because social work is a smaller major, you get to know the people who are in the major with you pretty well. It is nice because you have people to lean on and work with and become friends with. The workload is lighter than some of the other majors on campus but there is a lot of writing involved. The advisers are really nice and so are the professors if you respect and get to know them. The major requires a lot of networking but getting to know the professors is very helpful.

Campus Food: There is a huge variety of places to go on campus. With lots of different kinds of foods. There are also quite a few places to just go and grab something very quickly. It would be nicer though if they switched things around once in a while though.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is decent. I really like this egg, sausage, and toast combo I get. The service however is not that great. There is always three or four peoople working, but no one to cook our food or ring us up at the register. If I don't go to the cafe for food, I have to drive through traffic to get food in time to be back fro class.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: Nightlife overall seems to be pretty exciting. I hear abot parties all the time in my classes. I'm ot much of a partier though, so I don't pay mch attention to it.

Scholarships: I have recieved enough financiall aid to make it through the year okay. The process was pretty simple and help was availabe. However, the due dates were unclear and a lady working in the advising office for finanicial aid mis informed me.

Campus Quality: Stunning campus. Beautiful scenery and wildlife abound. I give OSU an A- because there is a large amount of construction on campus.

Diversity: Coming to OSU for colllege, I was met with nothing but openness. Both by the university, and by Columbus as a whole.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Sometimes when I go to the library, the internet connection is not working and I am forced to go scavenging for another computer, I usually have no way to connect to myself back to the internet from the desk top computers around.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I am rating the Greeks with this letter because, they are great in community involvement and throw great events.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The campus is generally very attractive in regards to both guys and girls. That is if what your looking for is just physical beauty. I have found that few people can hold interesting intellectual conversations and lack any semblance of motivation to be here...But we are the most fit campus in the nation!

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: On campus transportation is really well done in respect to the bus system. But the minute you get off campus tranpo is rather lacking in Columbus proper. I even heard something about it being the largest cities in the U.S. without any light-rail or metro system. They could definitely use one because there are a lot of cool things to do around town, but at the moment a car is almost required.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many restaurants on and off campus. Columbus is a hopping place! There is lots to do.

4 College Student

Athletics: Varsity sports at Ohio State are pretty huge, especially the way campus treats us. We have wonderful training and workout facilities, including our own trainers, psychologists, and academic advisers. IM sports are pretty huge, too, because anyone can play. We have some pretty diverse ones, too

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of restaurants here in Columbus. One can basically find any and all types of food if one really craves it. The price of a meal is pretty decent for what people are eating. The standards and amazing as the health dept cracked down on restaurants in the past years.

1 College Senior

Parking: Parking is a nightmare, have to get onto campus early to find a parking spot. Parking stickers are expensive, and it is hard to find parking. Have to take transportation from west campus to central campus if that is where you parked. It is a process every day.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: You will find pretty much all sorts of people here at OSU. The university is really diverse, it has recently been annouced that since 5 years ago there has been an increase of 40% in international students. The tuition here is quite reasonable compared to other universities. People here are quite friendly as there are students here from all walks of life. It is really easy to get use to the enviroment and people here. Easy to understand as Ohio is also known for having a universal accent (meaning there being none).

4 College Senior

Party Scene: There are a lot of clubs for one to go to, but I would say the best would be the ample amount of house parties on weekends. There are many in around campus, easy to find, free drinks and food.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
