Administration: Campus strictness is great with security within dorms - making sure a student ID is used to enter dorms. However, I feel there needs to be more security officers late at night on campus, for safety.

Health & Safety: Just depends. As long as you are smart and understand where the dangerous parts of campus are, then you will be okay.

Guys & Girls: It's a most typical college atmosphere. Student's are concerned with looks to a degree, but also kind and considerate and willing to help others for the most part.

Academics: You get out of it what you put into it. Simple as that.

Overall Experience: Some classes have professors that clearly care about being there and helping you achieve success, others would simply you not exist so they could go about their research. Those classes with the professors that care are the most enjoyable.

Off-Campus Housing: It seems that there are a variety of off campus housing options ranging from amazing to creepy and dangerous. There is just as much variety in the off campus housing prices from outrageous to reasonable. In order to find a good off campus housing option, students need to start in the fall semester and secure their housing early. I feel like the off campus areas on South campus are safer than those on the east side of campus where most parties and safety issues seem to happen. On street parking for off campus housing seems to be a major problem with not enough spaces on the street for the number of students who have cars. The best option seems to be to find off campus housing that has a dedicated parking area for the residents.

Academics: So far, I really like my major. Of course, I have only taken one course in my actual major so I really don't have a lot to compare. There seem to be so many opportunities for internships and to make connections with possible future employers in the field. The curriculum seems like it will open up a variety of opportunities for different and exciting jobs in the field.

Campus Housing: I have been able to make my dorm room a very comfortable space. It is larger than my sister's at a smaller university nearby. I would like more storage space, but the amount of space is about what I expected for a dorm room. I would have liked to be in one of the newly renovated (and air conditioned) dorms, but my coach had her athletes assigned to my dorm as it is open during breaks and some holidays. The social atmosphere is great in the dorms. Everyone is so friendly and I have already made so many amazing friends.

Local Area: There are so many things to do on and around campus. n one semester, I have attended concerts and sporting events, gone shopping in multiple areas, and eaten in and around campus. There are a variety of ways to get around. Students can get access to the public bus system, can pay for an electric car, get taxis and ubers, and many areas are close enough to get to by bike. So far I have not run into problems with the local attitude toward students.

Athletics: I cannot think of one negative thing to say about athletics at my school. I didn't expect the amazing support that athletes give each other and how much of a "family" and support system that my team would become. The facilities are state of the art and the high level of competition that each of the teams experience is, in my opinion, unmatched. School spirit is also off the charts. Where else can "band geeks" become superstars?! And there is nothing to compare to watching football in a stadium of 100,000+ screaming fans. But it's not just about football. I have supported many of the sports on campus and can't wait to experience more.

Health & Safety: I feel that campus crime is fairly minimal for a campus of our size. There are ways that students can make sure that their personal safety is not compromised. They include emergency call buttons across campus, a 24 hour bus service, escorts to ensure that students do not have to walk alone on campus at night and a police department that responds very quickly. There is also security in the residence halls so that non-residents can never enter the building unaccompanied, day or night. I feel very safe on campus. I do make sure to never walk alone at night and stay aware of my surroundings.

Majors: I was able to get right into my program as my grades from high school allowed for a direct admission in to the school of my choice. The challenges have been trying to balance being a student athlete and scheduling the classes that I need for my major. The intro courses for my major are only offered at one time of the day (morning) and on certain days of the week. I am faced with the choice of changing my major because the classes that I need are only offered during practice time in the morning. It would be helpful if these classes could be offered twice a day, one morning and one afternoon to accommodate athletes in this major of study.

Administration: Campus and Columbus Police are great. Except when they mace you point blank and throw tear gas cans at your head because you are standing in the street after your school has won the national championship.

Campus Housing: Living in dorms here is pretty nice. The other students attending OSU are great and the dorms are pretty convenient as well, offer many activities, social occasions, and experiences.

Off-Campus Housing: Most if not all of the houses you can rent were built in the 1920's, however renovations make the houses much more appealing. There are also many apartments with modern designs and living spaces. They are just a tad bit more expensive.

Local Area: The Ohio State University is a wonderful place to begin to adapt to the circumstances of the real world. With an amazing student body and proud alumni, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Administration: I guess it depends on the dorm in reality. The polices say one thing but its up to the dorm to report. If you are reported everything is very strict. If you keep out of site, and don't bother others they let it slide. Parking on the other hand is super strict. If you don't have a sticker, or you haven't paid, then you will be towed and heavily fined. Drug use isn't really tolerated, I know people get away with things, but if you are causing your hall-mates to complain you will get in trouble. Visitation is easy in the dorms too. As long as they are with someone at all times they don't care who is visiting. Everything is basically centered around having a good atmosphere to study and giving students time to socialize too.

Health & Safety: If you are on campus for the most part you are safe. You get reports of violence, and everyone knows because the campus sends out security alerts, but not too many are sexual assault. They have transportation during the night if you don't feel safe too. There are some campus buses that run, and campus security will pick you up if you call and bring you back to your dorm. You need to keep some security measures for your bikes. You will get your tires stolen at least once. Never leave your personal belongings out in public without supervision. For the most part though, like I said you feel very safe at all times on campus. If there is a problem, they have security going around campus, and in some buildings, and their own police to get to situations quickly if needed.

Athletics: Its great if you love football. This is of course the biggest sport at osu. There are so many other varsity sports and clubs that are just as important. For the most part though the fandom, if you will, is football and basketball. Volleyball, Baseball, and Swimming are big ones too. There is also Hockey, Soccer, Softball, and several other sports.Honestly I'm not that into sports, but school spirit and the bonding over football games and parties is always fun, even when you don't like sports.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
