While it may be boring to not really have much change in seasons, it is quite nice to be in mild temperatures all through the year. It can get incredibly hot at some points, but such times are usually only at the beginning of the year and last only for a few days at most. Other than that, though, the climate is almost always temperate, and very few people complain about it. Not much else can really be said about the weather at Occidental. The school is located close enough to the ocean to remain at relatively normal temperatures, but still far enough away to get pretty hot during the month of August. Rainfall is almost nonexistent throughout the year, save for one or two storms.
Some students actually complained about wanting rainy days, but felt very weird on the occasions when it did rain. Snow is out of the question in the Southern California climate as well, which bothers some students because of the need to drive far away to participate in any kind of winter sports. But the climate is easily adaptable to anyone, and the only problems students have with the weather is that they get used to it, and then are forced to go back home to areas where it's much colder, leading most students to easily accept and enjoy the SoCal weather.
