4 College Freshman

Parking: Tons of open spots, easy to find parking

5 College Freshman

Parking: On-campus parking is easy. Having a car will make your life easier here.

5 College Freshman

Parking: You need a care to get anywhere worth going off campus. Mainly because LA transport sucks but parking at oxy is a breeze if you are able to get one.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking on campus is pretty great. There is many parking spaces around the dorms and it is pretty easy to get a nice spot. The spaces are not extremely close to the lecture buildings but they are close enough that any student can walk to their car and lecture classes without any time at all.

4 College Senior

Parking: Parking at Oxy is pretty great. You don't have to pay for a permit. The only thing is, as the college accepts more students, "good" parking near your dorm is getting a little harder to find.

Parking is pretty simply described at Oxy. It's there, it's nice enough, and it's easy. There's always parking available somewhere on campus, even though it might not be the most desirable space. There are never major complaints about parking, and it never really becomes a problem because the campus is so small that very little driving on campus ever happens. Save for the occasional drive to dinner when it's raining, people walk almost everywhere on campus. If you have a car, you have nothing to worry about. The only concern was that few buildings had much parking directly next to them, but this was no real concern as there was always a parking space available at the next building or lot. Availability was a small issue as well, and while some students complained about it, it was mostly because of the proximity of spaces to their residence halls, and they all treated it as a minor issue that really didn't bother them much at all.

Safety of cars that are parked on campus is also a very minor concern for students. Problems with break-ins do of course happen occasionally, but no student felt that their car was ever not safe when parked on campus. Most students said that the school does a great job with protecting their cars, and some even reported accidentally leaving valuables out in their cars for several days without a problem. Cars are no hassle to have on campus, and it is of no worry for any student to find parking, or to have to do much to protect a car from vandalism or theft.
