Off-Campus Housing

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing selection is great.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It's better to live off campus because it's usually cheaper than on campus, but finding an opening can be difficult.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I do not live off-campus. Students under the age of 21 are not permitted to live off campus unless they meet certain requirements set by the school. I have a few friends that do live off campus and their apartments are right outside of the campus gates. They look like pretty small rooms. I do not know much more about housing outside of campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I lived on campus for two semesters. Most students are required to live on campus for 3 years, unless they reside with family or get approved for off-campus housing. There are many apartments around campus, as well as houses available for rent.

There are a couple of places for off-campus housing, including the Frog Pond Apartments and College Manor Apartments. Frog Pond has a full-year lease and includes four people with their own rooms. College Manor includes a two-bedroom apartment with one bathroom. At both residences, the cost is usually $400 a month.

It is a little hard to find a place off campus because a lot of students occupy housing before the beginning of the semester. The best time to find a place to stay is during the summer and at the end of fall break. Usually, when the seniors move out is the best time to find a place to stay. Most of the time, it is worth it, especially if you have someone you trust, whether it is a friend or a family member. There are a lot of students that stay on campus because they either cannot find a place to stay or they feel that they should stay on campus.
