2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Towards the end of the year, many people were robbed, including my roommate and I. Security was enhanced in areas all around campus but people were still getting robbed.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It can be a switch, but its easy to get used to.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I would only hope that a degree from this school is highly valued.

Campus Housing: Spacious yes, but there were things wrong with the room as I was moving in.

Greek Life: There are definitely more ups than downs to being in a fraternity/sorority. The biggest downside would be paying monthly dues and the large initial sum of money when first joining, but the upside is better possible job opportunities in the future.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Being a cheerleader, I am exposed to all things sports, and I must say that this university spends a great deal of time and money on our athletics (excluding cheer).

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have never had any issues on campus in terms of crime or my safety.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I really enjoy my classroom experience here and my professors are always there to help.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am fully confident I will be able to get a job after getting a degree from this university.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I have enjoyed living on campus because I am closer to all of my classes.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Our football team really isn't that good. The sense of "school pride" just isn't there for sports.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I fell in love with the campus here. It is beautiful and in a small town.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The health and safety are pretty good on campus.

Athletics: Honestly sports are very important at every school but not very important to me.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My overall experience for my school is that I wish we didn't have to pay for unnecessary classes. I wish tht we could just stick with the classes for out specific major.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The professors are very knowledgeable and willing to help you as long as you put in your best effort.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I know several graduates who were able to move into careers very easily.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: While it is a great school, very little interaction between students happens. Mostly career focused and driven, but a great learning environment.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus because it is small and there are not many people. (Leesville campus)

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I only see my professors during class time.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have heard good things about the career prospects from this school.

Before you come to NSU, the first thing you should do is figure out how to pronounce "Natchitoches," the name of the city in which the University is located (for the record, it's "Nack-i-tish"). After that, enjoy all that the University has to offer, including good academics, stellar school spirit, and a historic atmosphere in the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Some of the other assets of the school include its diversity, active Greek life, and activities both on and off campus.

If you are looking for a campus with rampant public transportation, then NSU might not be the school for you. The best way to get around would be by car or by foot. Also, the campus is a dry campus, which means it's alcohol-free. Other complaints from students include the cafeteria food, building hours, and the fact that it's mostly a commuter campus (with around 80 percent of undergrads living off campus).
