5 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life was something I was never interested in until I went to N-Side View Day at NSULA. The students apart of greek life were very friendly and they took the time to answer questions accuratelt, calling in help from other greeks just to make sure the newer students weren't being misled. The vibe the greeks give off was just magnificent. Seeing the other paternitys come together together sometimes instead of always competing really made greek life interesting for the newer students such as myself. I was definietly mislead about greek life. Greek students at NSULA aren't viewed very differently.

Athletics: The athletic program here is magnificent. The coaches are great and they work very hard at what they do. They dedicate themselves just as well as the students do to be their very best. The coaches stay on top of grades, reminding students that class work comes first. The hard work these coaches and students do really shows off game time. The athletic department is supported greatly by the faculty, stuff, and students. You can see a lot of school spitrit throughout the campus such as signs, chants, or even vehicles being painted on representing the sports.

Overall Experience: This is by far the best school i've been too. The staff there are just great. They are so friendly and they make sure you have what you need even if they have to go out of their way. They take the time to walk you through a difficult process instead of doing the work for you. The students are very respectful and they make the experience of being a Demon even better. The enviroment is full of love and positivity.

Overall Experience: Northwestern State University is the best decision i have made after high school. Professors are more than helpful and make you truly enjoy learning. Class sizes are varied but on average they are the perfect size, i have yet to have a class that i felt secluded in.

Before you come to NSU, the first thing you should do is figure out how to pronounce "Natchitoches," the name of the city in which the University is located (for the record, it's "Nack-i-tish"). After that, enjoy all that the University has to offer, including good academics, stellar school spirit, and a historic atmosphere in the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Some of the other assets of the school include its diversity, active Greek life, and activities both on and off campus.

If you are looking for a campus with rampant public transportation, then NSU might not be the school for you. The best way to get around would be by car or by foot. Also, the campus is a dry campus, which means it's alcohol-free. Other complaints from students include the cafeteria food, building hours, and the fact that it's mostly a commuter campus (with around 80 percent of undergrads living off campus).
