5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My school is for sure the best because everyone is friendly, from the professors, to the students. Everyone makes sure that you are having a great experience on and off campus. Students make sure to treat you like family, and professors go out of their way to make sure you are understanding the material. The campus is beautiful, and you really get an at home feeling.

Greek Life: does a lot for people and opens up a lot of doors, great opportunity.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: i feel safe and feel that the campus does a good job of taking its precautions

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: getting involved in sports is what brings a campus together.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: nothing too special, they run at pretty decent prices.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: its enough to socialize and have a good time but nothing too crazy

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: its a small town overall, so of course theres not 1000 options, but its fairly decent.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: they want you to go to class, but they completely leave it up to you.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: seems typical for colleges, nothing too great. salad is the best

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: a little complicated for what i was used to, but we're working through it.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: nice size rooms and well planned out housing for all students

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: It isn't always good. The salad bar didn't always have good lettuce and the dressing wasn't alway fresh (ranch).

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It isn't bad. The first dorm I was in was not so great. The sorority dorm was better.

Administration: School policies on campus represented normal social norms. It also was lenient due to it being college and giving its students freedom of being an adult and learning how the real world works.

Campus Food: During the school year, you start to get used to the food in the union and it starts to turn bland. I even developed really bad acid reflex from eating the same food almost every day. There are not many options available if you have a super special diet, but there's always something available. It might not be what you would eat it you were home, but it is still something to eat.

Campus Housing: Living on campus your first year of college is a very important step in life. It teaches you responsibility about living on your own and how to not always depend on your parents to wake you up for school/classes. It also helps you adjust to your new life away from home at college. It provides a welcoming atmosphere to make new friends and help adjust to a different lifestyle that you're not familiar with.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: I have applied for endless scholarships and have not received one. Financial aid does not help because my parents make too much. But my parents are not paying my way through college.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is good but not much of a change. Plus it's pricey and at Community College they don't have meal plans

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing allows for a lot more freedom. Housing is easy to obtain and it fairly reasonable in price.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining provides a lot of options but they are mainly fast food chains or small places. There is some variety.

3 College Student

Administration: Some of the policies in the dorms do not seem like they should apply but others are in place for good reason. The security and campus police are very helpful, bu they do not allow alcohol in the dorms.

4 College Student

Party Scene: The party scene is very fun and lively. There is always something going on and a place to go. The frat houses throw big parties, but there is also house parties if you prefer a smaller crowd.

4 College Student

Scholarships: There are many scholarships at Northwest. If you keep your resume up to date and have all the necessary materials for applications, the process goes smoothly.

Campus Food: The food is not the best, but it is also not the worst. After several weeks you feel as if the food offered has become boring. I often only choose from about two or three options for every meal. The meal exchange program is a good way to mix up your choices by allowing you to choose Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, Zen, Papa Johns, or Einstein Bros.

Campus Housing: NWMSU on campus housing is a very fun, active environment that fosters new relationships and new friendships. The dorm I live in is spacious and has a good vibe. It can be somewhat loud and active at times, while at other times it is quiet and the perfect place to study. Our dorms are in close proximity to the academic halls so you don't have to worry about being too far away form anything. The housing process is very easy and I would recommend that everyone live on campus at least one year.
